Salut Charles. Thanks for including PhysioVélo to this video. And yes they are great. Was there last year because of one of your videos on YT and was not disappointed. Super team. Great work as usual. Can’t wait for the next one. I think you have Andreas in it. A master builder. Bonne journée.

Saddle still seems a bit too high: there's a lot of side-to-side rocking going on which indicates an amount of "reaching" to the bottom of the pedal stroke.

Same same! I went for a fit there last year, I should have turned around, fortunately my insurance was paying for the shitty fit they did. It was for my gravel bike that already has a high stack and they put 40mm of spacers under my stem and changed my 100mm stem for a 120mm. I ended up going to another fitter and he redid all the fit. Physiovelo only have 5 stars reviews on Google and it doesn't really make sense. Avoid.

Another alternative to the saddle you're on. Try the Sella Italia Flite Boost in a 145 with the cut out.

As a fitter and pro team mechanic, 50% of cyclists think they know better than everyone else, and they don’t. Any question, look at his self-fit at the start of the video. It’s horrible and obvious he has no clue!

No offense, but when it all comes down to the end of the video, I do not feel that you are confident with the opinion of your fit by the fitter. I think that this is somewhat proven by the fact that while still on the bike messing with the stem, you mentioned that you plan on moving the bars around. Why would you want to move ANYTHING around if you feel that the professional bike fit that you just got was done correctly, and you are already flexible enough to handle a slammed position? I learned everything that you had done and said with your bike fit by watching other KZbin videos, and I feel that this bike fitting was a basic bike fit that anyone could have done by themselves, including you, with basic knowledge using your experience riding a bike, or watching a few videos on KZbin..... it did not take a pro bike fitter. I did not see or learn anything different or extraordinary about a bike fit from watching this video.

@beltonhogue
@beltonhogue Жыл бұрын
@@CharlesOuimet thank you, but no need to apologize. My comment was more so directed at the bike fitter. I expected more in-depth knowledge because I hear so many people talking about the high benefits of getting a bike fit by a specialist, , and so when I see a bike fit video, I really expect to see where ones money is supposed to be valuable. In the case of this specialist , I just don't feel that I would have got my money's worth from what I saw on the video. But I'll be back to see your other episodes!
@beltonhogue

@@CharlesOuimet ..... I also would like to add that When I first started riding and it was suggested to me to get a bike fit, that I did not do so in fear of going to a inadequate bike fitter, as apparently there are many. So when I see a bike fit video, I really expect to see the bike fitter going into depth behind his reasonings and really making things for the rider the best to his ability, and I just don't feel that he really put forth too much effort to make adjustments when you said that you were not comfortable with certain positions, that's all.
@Dustydayzz
@Dustydayzz Жыл бұрын
I don't fully agree with you. Saddle fore and aft can be tricky. Especially when you change Saddle height. He obviously had the Saddle too high...that will immediately feel foreign to him when lowered...if you're doing this by yourself you're more likely to return to your previous too high Saddle. Coz you're basing everything on the feel. Wanting to change things around after a fit is the exact response 90% of the ppl will have because your body want what it's used to. You can feel stretched...it doesn't mean the fitter did a bad job ...u just need to give yourself time to adjust to the new position. Some ppl can wait some cant.

@@beltonhoguein PhysioVelo's defense, like Charles said this video was intended for a wider audience so he clearly did not go into the details of a bike fit. This clinic is one of the best places to get a bikefit in Quebec. If you're looking for real insights: like Guillaume said the best way to get faster is to avoid injury and the bike fit is intended to keep you from getting injured. The specifics will depend on the individual

His hands seem to come to rest on the top curve of the bar as opposed to resting on the hoods. He wants to bring the saddle fwd to fix his reach issue but the saddle wing is irritating the back of his leg. Keep in mind his seat post is 0 set back. He may be in the cusp of in between sizes.
@adamjd7645
@adamjd7645 Жыл бұрын
@@adccars359 Interesting. Given the number of variables in play, there's probably a lot he can do yet before we can declare the frame too large. Personally, I think his saddle is still too high (lots of hip rocking) so you may well be right.
@adccars359
@adccars359 Жыл бұрын
@@adamjd7645 Shortening the stem by about 2-3 cm should put him in the ball park. But a size down frame should give him more room to optimize his fit. More seat post deflection. better weight distribution with some fore aft adjustment. Shorter head tube. will give him more room to dial in his reach. 90 -110 mm stem should do.
