Las Vegas we drive 6 hours just so I can eat at the Aloha cafe and be around my people then shop at The Ranch Market in Vegas for oodle's of food and pick up a lot of fresh Chinese food's Char Siu, Pork bell, Roast pork skin and Chinese ribs. My marrying a White man. I've localized him to Japanese, Hawaiian culture and Hawaiian culture we are raised eating Chinese food, Korean food, Pilipino. Thai. Vietnamese, Mongolian etc. but we were raised as Japanese and my husband has been the victim of racism for not knowing any better than a marrying me. Skin heads sound familiar? Both of us eat it here because I'm Japanese. Pearl Harbor lives on in many minds till today. To which my response is that is my birthplace and homeland. Had our monarchy not been overthrown etc. I don't know how many drops of Chinese or indigenous blood is in me. I can't take a DNA test because my health is so bad for the sake of the children is the Japanese and Chinese/ Asian way also is a rigorous education. No I have nothing in common with my grocery story unless I'm in Asian Markets, although I've made friend's with people who work in the American stores, no matter their culture. I can get along with anybody who isn't a racist. I'm old enough that Jimmy would call me auntie. My son is Hawaiian 1/2, Chinese with a Chinese last name and a lot of Japanese. My 1st marriage was to a Chinese mix man. I hope that explains things for you. No ill will intended. But, you can't tell a Asian that I have more in common with a someone I pass in a grocery store. Also, I still have an old pants of mine that have a rip on one leg like one of those ripped jeans. And she think I dressed like a homeless person. It's just the style, mom! And besides, I have an expensive smartphone. No one will think I'm homeless. Most, and maybe not all, Asian elder ladies will think the same towards us young generation. Edit: Everything he said is 100% true. Especially, the low self-esteem. I have one elder aunt and uncle who always act like they're better than everyone just because their kids are successful. And because of that, my mom always compared me and my siblings to their kids. I don't care, but at the same time, it lowered my self-esteem.

Jimmy O. Yang is brilliant. He is so clever, so charming and extremely likeable. He will have a great career which has already started well. I'm English so American humor is not my style. Even so, Jimmy always makes me laugh. Great talent and personality.

The hair part Is too accurate. My mom told me my hair looks like an untidy bird's nest when I was trying to grow it long during my teenage days

The reason why jimmy's dad got the role was because of him. It would be sad if Jimmy didn't actually know.

Obviously he knows, he doesn't want his dad to feel bad. Jimmy has a big heart.

Ya true about older asians lol, I haven't seen my pops in a year and I had gained weight...and I open the door when he arrives at my house and he said "Bren, you got fat!" ...that's the first thing he said, not hello or anything lol

Coming from a family that's basically mayo on white-bread I can confirm that my mom and grandmothers do this too. They call it coopon-ing, and we'll never find a use for 27 cans of sardines.

I’ll take those sardines. My 5 year old loves them 😂
