The imitation of a Chinese person pretending to understand something is spot on! 20 years ago my FIL married a Chinese woman who knew next to no English. When she asked to have something explained to her, you could tell the difference between her understanding it and her only pretending to. Understanding it caused her to ask more clarifying questions on the topic. Pretending to understand it sounded like, "Oh, oh, yah, yah..." and then she would repeat the last one or two words that the explainer had just said.

Saving money is usually universal with fathers. Why wouldn’t it be? They are supporting a family. I have memories of my father buying generic products like “corn flakes” and “crackers” next to Kelloggs and Ritz in the 80s. They were as generic as they came! White box and dark purple lettering. No logos for store, no designs on box, and no colors. Just white boxes. Some people would be embarrassed (not buying brand names). My father was raising three sons, F WHATEVER people thought!

Why is his life sp relatable? My mother is like his father, both parents saying, "Back then, we walk miles to school, no FANCY car, we get whipped by teachers, we were very good students, no bullies..." "No, no one bullies, no one does weird dances that is inappropriate!" I can list more, but rather not say, this guy is too relatable.
