Your dad's 80% rule is true. Your example about reading in class instead of asking for more really highlights ANOTHER reason why Swedish life/education is so great. You'd never have that opportunity in British education unless prescribed in the lesson.

Thank you Saga i will watch a few times as there is a lot of content. Our problem was that influence from Peers and society became much stronger than parents influence as our Son got older. It depends on the characters. Worked with you but not everyone. ❤

Oh yes that is hard. I think my dad was quite worried about me when I was a teenager and in my early 20's.... It takes time ❤

I do believe that the keyword that came up so many times in your lessons was "confidence." This is something that I really lacked when I was young, and took me until nearly middle age before I really felt confident in who I am. My parents were very loving, but my dad, while he was very wonderful in so many ways, such as teaching me how to swim, taking me ice skating, and being about the best provider any child could ever hope for, he could sometimes be critical in his words. In America, most children grew up with the saying "Sticks and stones shall break my bones but words will never hurt me!" This saying is so not true, especially if we come into the world as a sensitive soul. I am very grateful for my own father in so many ways, and so the only reason I would say anything is to help others to realize how much bearing our words can have on others, especially children, and the more sensitive among us. We all need to practice kindness, and that is one thing that my father and mother both taught so well, so I am ever thankful for that! 🙌 I'm glad that your father taught you so well, and that is probably why you are beaming with confidence, and are so far ahead of your years in so many ways with your wisdom. I know I've said this before, but it's so true! I love that you try to help other people the way you do Saga! 🤗💖

Wow those are some amazing ways to live life. Super eye opening and gives me a whole new prospective on life, especially parenting. I'm very strict and expect a lot from my children but, maybe I shouldn't be. I let them play and be kids but, when I have to repeat the same thing every single day it gets very frustrating when they don't listen... Even with this new prospective I'm not really sure what the best solution is. I know you don't have any children but, any thoughts on that specific scenario? I feel like it may just be "normal" for kids, I know I wasn't like that as a kid but, I'm far from "normal". I really enjoy your videos, especially this one. This video is really going to help me chance my life in many ways. Will definitely watch this video many times to stay on track and remind me of these rules to live by.

Sounds like you have a great dad. Where did your dad learn this from? Were his parents the same or are these parental principles ingrained in Swedish culture?
