This song is a perfect description, I think, of how it feels to love someone when you suffer from severe depression and anxiety. You love them and want to be with them so much, but you don't want your sickness to effect them. You feel like a failure and that all you are is sadness and suffering, and how could anyone want to be with you? So, you tell the person you love to stay away, because you don't want to hurt them, even though you need them there more than ever.

Recently diagnosed with bipolar (my sickness) and have made my wife's (my angel and I haunt her heart) life so hard at times (I turn into the devils son). I often wonder why she doesn't turn and run to save herself from "a life full of lies and a heart full of pain and sorrow". I hate being this way and there is no one else I love but I don't know when and why I am being this way. I can relate to this song on so many levels and when I am in moments of clarity it makes me so sad that I can treat my wife this way. I wanted to share this intimate detail about my life to help bring mental health and the struggles that we go through, it truly is a sickness just like any other and, unfortunately there is not enough attention being given to these people with this problem from a medical standpoint.

Just remember to take your meds. If you don't take them you can't be sure when you'll go off. If you do take them, you'll be sleepy all the time but at least partially lucid and without any episodes. The only other possibility is to look for a diet built around healing and avoiding all commercially processed foods. But you're right. It might still happen. But that doesn't mean you are worthless or that she should find someone else. The best way to handle it is to plan for when it happens so she'll know exactly what to do and how to deal with it. That will help shorten the episode and get you back to normal as fast as possible. You can do what you need to do to help with this. Do your own research because your doctor won't. The good thing is that we have the internet now and people that find out ways to deal with these things will post videos or blogs about it to help others deal with the pain of this condition.

This song resonates so much with me as I'm sure it does with many others my husband whose been my angel since the moment we met and I'm so grateful for him and I only want the best for him and when we met I was an broken down addict and he saved me from that only to stand by me and support through a health struggle with migraines that no medical treatment has ever been able to help. As much I am grateful to have him to help me though the pain on the bad days where I can't even get out of bed I hate myself because so many times he has had to cancel plans or miss events that I know he really wanted and it hurts. Everytime I try to tell him he should just go and "save himself" he just looks at me and says about how he doesn't want anyone else he chose me and that's what matters because there will always be other events and things going on, but it still hurts knowing he is putting himself on hold because of me and honestly I do believe "my sickness" will never end or change ( for the record we dated 2 years before we got married and now we have been married for 7 years)

The first time i heard this song i was pretty devastated from another betrayal and broken promises from my ex.
