Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

Very nice. Since you are maxing out all investments you are probably a high income earner. If that is the case, why would you max out both 401k and IRA? High income earners don't get tax deduction for IRA contribution if they have access to 401k. I'd fund regular brokerage account instead of IRA in your case

Well, passive investing is all about buying and holding a diverse range of assets for ther long haul. It's a simple and straightforward approach that's designed to track ther performance of a particular market index. On ther otherr hand, active investing involves trying to outperform ther market through more frequent trading and analysis. It can be a bit more complex and time-consuming, but it can also potentially lead to higherr returns. If you're trying to decide which approach is right for you, I'd definitely recommend consulting with Julie Ann Lerch. her's an expert financial advisor who can provide valuable insights and guidance.

@@DorthyFernandez My plan is simple. Just carefully buy and buy and buy as much as I can whenever I can in the next correction. This is for those who know where to look though. It's not as tax-advantaged as some of their other options, but it can still be a great way to save for their future. When interest rates decline the stock market may go up but the value your bonds also rises. So if you have a bond fund you will see the NAV rise as interest rates decline while your stock funds also rise. The interest rate may fall but the base price increases to track the return from the stock market. it is a competition for investors.

It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. Can you make a video on why you should or should not put your retirement account into a small cap index fund when you have 20-40 years of investing left. Small caps return more over large periods of time but nobody talks about why it would be a good or bad choice.

That's a great video; having a majority of investments in the s&p500 with a positive return every year is the smartest way for wealth generation. I'll give a try to have a portfolio with higher cash amounts since the Canadian tfsa averages 5% every year.

This is a question for anyone that would like to share their advice. I do dollar cost averaging in the US, but I also have a stock account in Australia, but every time I purchase any stock, there is a small cost for each share purchase, depending on the amount purchased. This is much different to the US where there are no charges to constantly buy or sell shares. Is dollar cost averaging still effective for my Australian stock account. Your advice would be appreciated. 14:18

Great video. We have similar plans except I'm planning on house hacking (since I live in the midwest where it's way cheaper). They are also releasing the first Bitcoin ETF soon™so I'm waiting for that. I'm curious what your thoughts are on it assuming you've heard about it?

What are your thoughts on buying a house to rent it out vs living in it? I keep hearing don't buy a house and live in it if you can rent it out as a good investment plan.
@rh88841
@rh88841 6 ай бұрын
Honestly, you hear so many financial gurus talk about how buying a house is a bad investment but they don't take into account that most people don't buy a house as an investment; they just want to live in a house. If all you car about is money, then yeah. Buy and house and rent it out, and live in an apartment. But if you want to live in a house, just do it. It won't appreciate like the stock market, but you'll get back at least what you put into it when you do eventually sell it.

Well my plan is simple. Just carefully buy and buy and buy as much as I can whenever I can in the next correction. This is for those who know where to look though. I made over $910k in profits alone during the last correction and even pulled it off with ease in a bad economy. Looking to more this year.

The biggest problem with bond funds was if you bought them in the last ten years with low interest rates as a hedge against stock market downturn, you got hosed when the rates went up. It will take years to earn back the principal lost in a bond fund bought in the last decade.

One interesting thing about interest rates and equities. The graph that shows the inverse correlation between the S&P500 and interest rates is a bit misleading. The metric that has the highest correlation with the S&P500 is earnings, not interest rates. The correlation between earnings or price to earnings and interest rates is very weak. I encourage people who don't believe it to plot these variables against each other. I am not saying that the market is not overvalued. I think it is. What I am saying is that the S&P has climbed as it has because earnings have grown, regardless of interest rates.
