10. VFIAX (ETF: VOO)
This is a vanguard index fund that tracks the S&P 500 which is the top 500 companies here in the United States. This lets you get access to all the largest companies on the stock market including companies like Apple, Amazon, Tesla, Google, McDonalds and so on.
9. FTIHX
This particular index fund would give you exposure to 5058 international stocks that looks to get you results that correspond to teh total return of all foreign and emerging markets. Some of its largest holdings include Nestle, Taiwan Semiconductor, Samsung and Shell.
8. SNXFX (ETF: SCHK)
This is Schwab’s 1000 Index Fund which tracks the total return of the top 1000 largest US Companies based on market capitalization. This gives you more exposure to more companies than just a S&P 500 fund, you’re getting exposure to some mid-cap companies as well
7. FXAIX
This is Fidelity’s version of VFIAX, so the top 500 companies in the US. This one in my opinion is slightly better than VFIAX only because the expense ratio is much lower at 0.015%.
6. VGSLX (ETF: VNQ)
This is Vanguard’s real estate index fund. It invests in a lot of REITs which are real estate entities that buy commercial properties like office buildings, hotels, and other real estate.
5. VQNPX
Vanguard Growth and Income Fund Investor Shares: Known as the growth and income fund, its a fund that seeks to outperform the S&P 500 index. It comes with a little more risk than your traditional S&P 500 index fund. It includes 1536 different companies, and this means it holds a bunch of smaller companies as well - which means that it's going to provide more risk
4. VVIAX (ETF: VTV)
VVIAX is a Vanguard Value Index Fund which invests in the stocks of large US companies in market sectors that tend to grow at a slower pace than the broad market. It typically invests in large, safer companies. In short, it's less about growth and more about stability.
3. FXNAX - Bond Fund
This bond index fund tracks the results corresponding to the Bloomberg US Aggregate Bond Index, which includes US bonds, corporate bonds, asset backed bonds and mortgage backed securities with maturities of at least one year. As you age, most people like to include more fixed income into their portfolio - so if that is something you are looking for you can consider adding this to your portfolio.
2. SCHD (ETF) - So GOOD
This ETF tracks the Dow Jones U.S. Dividend 100 Index, which is composed of stocks from the Dow Jones U.S. Total Stock Market Index that have high dividend yields, but it has such great criteria for picking high quality dividend stocks. Listen to their criteria from their prospectus:
The stock must have a $500 million market cap, with at least 10 years of consecutive dividend payments. They need to meet strict financial criteria based on fundamentals such as cash flow to total debt, return on equity, and the 5 year dividend growth rate.
No single stock can represent more than 4% of the index, and no sector can represent more than 25% of the total index, so it’s well balanced.
1. VTSAX (ETF: VTI)
This is one of my favorite index funds because it covers the ENTIRE stock market in the US.
It holds over 4026 stocks, so whether thats a large cap, mid cap, or small cap stock - you can get a piece of every stock in the US by just buying this one fund. If you want to bet on US Companies and stocks - this is the fund for you.

Investing in the stock market has HISTORICALLY provided higher returns than other forms of investment. According to Morningstar, the average annual return for the S&P 500 index, which measures the performance of 500 large-cap stocks, was approximately 10% from 1926 to 2020.

Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment.

Are you trying to build your income and prepare for retirement? It’s important to choose stocks that are expected to hold up in inflationary environments. To combat the negative effect of inflation, it’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different asset classes, such as stocks, bonds, and real estate, since this can help protect your portfolio against inflation. I have seen People making up to $500k in a month during high inflation. You too can do same.

@Humphrey - If I have my money in Fidelity, does it just make sense to buy Fidelity’s index funds instead of Vanguard’s? For example, if I want to buy VOO should I just buy FXAIX and pay less expense ratio? That is what I am having trouble with. Convenience is telling me Fidelity but I want to make sure I’m not missing out on something Vanguard provides in VOO that Fidelity doesn’t in FXAIX. Thanks!

@shane heried The one effective technique I'm confident nobody admits to using, is staying in touch with an Investment-Adviser. Based on firsthand encounter, I can say for certain their skillsets are topnotch, I've raised over $700k since 2017. Just bought my 3rd property for rental. Credit to Autumn Lynzi Smith.. my Investment-Adviser.

What are your thoughts on SWTSX and SWISX for international??
@humphrey
@humphrey Жыл бұрын
The reason I didnt go with SWISX is that it holds way fewer holdings than FTIHX and I wanted broad intl exposure for this video in particular. SWTSX is pretty comparable though and I think you could swap this in, in place of any other total stock market fund.

I started stacking to SAVE wealth. I've always been the type of person to spend my entire paycheck. I hate having money just sit in the bank. I am under pressure to grow my reserve of $950k. before I turn 60, I would appreciate any advice on potential investments.

I can feel your pains. New guys need to realize the risks that come with all of this. You could lose it all and you could win it all. It goes both ways. Second, what works for A may not necessarily work for B and you should not be a bandwagon investor. A good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge.

Hey Humphrey. Im more interested in Islamic Shariah Compliant Index funds. I know there are not many...still could you recommend some of the top performing ones
@humphrey
@humphrey Жыл бұрын
hey Freak, I see. I dont know too much about Shariah compliant funds, but I can try to find some for you online. I found that SPUS is a decent one but the expense ratios with these funds are typically higher (probably because they know the customers MUST buy these if they want to be compliant). So just keep in that in mind.
