My Daughter's Favorite 🍊 Orange Cookies You Can Find In Turkish Bakeries!

Orange Cookies using the whole orange! This Turkish-style classic cookie is well-known in bakeries in Turkey. Also famous as an "Anne kurabiyesi" (mom's cookies)
Ingredients for Turkish Orange Cookies:
1 whole orange
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp yogurt (optional)
100gr. butter
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 orange rind (to give extra flavor)
1 tsp leveled baking soda
about 4 cups flour (add gradually after 3+1/2 until it is playable)
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup walnuts
more granulated sugar for coating

Marhaba! I just tried out your delicious orange cookie recipe. I used one orange and did not have any raisins nor nuts though. But the cookies came out absolutely delicious! Ahhh!!! So good! I was wondering; if I may substitute the orange for lemon and turn the recipe into lemon cookies. I’m thinking about experimenting with the recipe. What do you think?

I saw in one of the replies that she reckons the slight bitterness gives a nice touch, but the strength depends on what type of citrus you use. I'm assuming you could use Clementines, not as strong nor bitter

Actually it might can change with the orange type you use but it is not that strong. Sometimes you get a little bitterness from the orange peel pieces but it gives nice touch 😊 that’s what I think
