This piece is... just... a masterpiece.... I really don't know how to describe something like this and put it into words, but its something like this: When you create music or art or express your ideas, ideals, and personality, you pour your soul into it. I myself am a pianist and I have experienced this myself. Learning how to play and playing a piece is physically draining. You literally feel tired after practicing enough even though all your doing is moving your fingers. When play music, you lose part of yourself.... but this part is in turn given to everyone who is listening. When you play a piece as strongly and as beautifully as possible, you can almost feel the energy of the song, the chords resonating off of each other creates a sort-of "power". After finishing the song, you lose this "power," but you regain it by seeing another person's art. It almost acts as a cycle. You can gain all sorts of inspiration and feeling from other people and then you devote this to something and in turn, you give this to someone else. The point is, reading your description, I can see that this song has drained you, but when I listen to it, I can almost feel the energy of the song. To me, this song may act as a power source for new ideas, but to someone else who could be living in a dark place or having a hard time, it almost heals them. Music is amazing and I would simply like to thank you for devoting so much of your life to creating it. So finally, I think everyone on youtube should join me in offering Animenz a huge "Thank-You" for his work. Thank-You Animenz. I hope you see this.

DLRMovieProductions X I couldn't have said it better myself. Though going to his Facebook page might be the best way to thank him. But everything you said struck true, I am also a pianist, and I have felt that energy drain.

I notice a shift in the keys there... Since I am not a good piano player and haven't played with all pedals yet... What does this do? Do you know that?
@chacharealsmooth86635 жыл бұрын
IMaxwellI I don’t entirely understand the question but if you mean the three pedals underneath the piano, the pedal that shifts the keys slightly to the right (which is located of the furthest left of the three pedals) helps to soften the sounds of keys. It might be used in part of a song that calls for many different key sounds to be heard (like the keys runs he was doing at 3:03 he used this because that part of the song isn’t meant to be very loud and because he didn’t want to sounds of each note bleeding together. The other basic pedals are the sustain (most commonly used and does what its name says- drawing out all notes) Animez uses this throughout majority of the piece. And finally, the middle pedal (with a name that I forget) but it’s job it to sustain specific notes and leave others not affected - for example if you press down a note and then press down on the pedal it will sustain in but other notes you play after with be unaffected - hope that helps :)

I’ve attempted many of animenz’s hardest pieces, including unravel, this game, history maker, swordland etc. And everytime I’ve learnt up to halfway or even 75% before giving up after hitting an area that was out of my skill. However after a few years of not trying his pieces so that I could focussing on my classical piano exams, I’ve come back and found myself able to finish this beautiful piece (and one of animenz’s hardest’s at that). It took 1 and a half months, and it serves as a testament to my growth as a pianist.

As someone who could comfortably play many classical hard pieces like La Campanella, Fantasied Impromptu, Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement, it actually took me a long time to learn this piece, so I'd say it's difficulty is nontrivial and I have a lot of respect for the composer.

I don't understand when people say Theister is emotional and Animenz is a robot. I almost cried listening to this and I haven't even watched the show.
@orangewaffle11038 жыл бұрын
It's because Animenz plays insane technical piano parts like it's nothing, almost like a "robot." At least, I think that's the reasoning behind it. I think Ishter's covers naturally show more emotional because some of his most popular covers are of really emotional songs. (e.g. - Glassy Sky) Either way, love both pianists. Both have their own talents and specialities, and have made many insane and beautiful covers.
@cruznunez99818 жыл бұрын
Yeah, personally, I think Animenz's style is better. I can clearly see why theisther's style appeals to people, but I think Theister is better with lots of low notes, ust pounding and pounding the harmony. animenz is better as more technical things, as shown by his terrifying abilities with his hands (don't get me wrong, theister is still amazing, but I just like Animenz more...
@yuelletwt30948 жыл бұрын
Gordon Lee it's probably because of the amazing accuarcy animenz has when playing his songs,probly doesn't literally mean dead robot or smth
@justinBiebsLovers7 жыл бұрын
i personally prefer Animenz simply because i consciously hear when a note is not play or in a different tone (idk what to describe it as) Animenz is very technical and hits all the notes whereas Theishter is more laid back and plays in a different style which doesn't necessarily do this , which i also like especially pieces like glassy sky. That's my guess anyway.

Cace Iloveu Since this comment thread is already filled with spoilers, I'm gonna tell you something about Guilty crown that I found out which I think will surely make you and many others happier about this series. Although it wasn't specifically stated, it can be heavily proven that Inori did not actually die and the ending was, rather, a very happy ending. First let's start off with how the series ended. It ended off with Shu and Inori hugging. Many think that this is simply Shu's imagination, because he can't forget about Inori since she's "dead." HOWEVER, I'm going to prove right now that Inori is not dead, but she really lives inside Shu's body. If you can still remember, when Inori sacrificed herself, she gave Shu the red strings that she showed him in the beginning of the anime. Right after she gave those strings, Inori sacrificed her body and she took all of the virus. There's something very significant about these red strings. These red strings actually represent life in this anime. If those red strings are cut, the soul officially dies. Sounds weird huh? Well if you remember, around episode 9, Shu met Jun (Yahiro's brother) in a "mysterious place" where apparently souls can meet each other. Jun's soul has red strings surrounding him in this place. This is where Shu learns that Jun wants to die, and he proceeds to cut those red strings, causing Jun to die right there. In addition, when Shu killed Segai, he used yahiro's void again to go straight for the red strings in segai's body, which he cut, causing segai to die. So...was it ever shown that Inori's red strings got cut? No! She gave them to Shu, and this is why Shu got blind just like Inori did.. because Shu absorbed Inori's soul in return for Inori sacrificing her body to take the virus and kill it once and for all. Now then, at the end of the anime when Shu was hugging Inori, that's actually in the "mysterious place" where souls can meet. In short, Shu is the only person who can see Inori since they both live together in one body. Not to mention that Shu was not even sad in the end of the anime, rather, he was smiling. If he changed his WHOLE personality cuz Hare died, he'd surely kill himself if Inori died. But nope, they live happily ever after. The end :) Share this with your friends who are still sad about Guilty Crown's ending :]

Can I just say that he's playing this without any sheet music in front of him. To memorize all those archipelagos, scales, etc. w/e you call them perfectly is beyond crazy. I found this song more difficult than the songs required for a performance degree/teachers degree in piano. And he plays it absolutely flawlessly and smoothly.
@danielpadua727011 жыл бұрын
it is his own rendition though but still major props
@platinumclawify11 жыл бұрын
Haha he probably does have formal qualifications like an associate or licentiate diploma though because he uses an awful lot of classical technique in his arrangements! And to be honest, the memorisation of music isn't difficult, it's just baffling to people who don't play music. It's the execution that Animenz is really amazing at :) and to think 6mins has to be done in a single take.
