Same story as you , I had an interest in psychology since I was 13, but Our family and society expected us to be a doctor. They wanted the respect and pride that comes with only being a doctor. The youth are attracted to fields that offer high pay, but we forget that both money and respect come from God. My story began in 2023 when I completed my FSC and took the MCAT in 2024. Although I did pass the MCAT but merit .....but I believe it was also a blessing from God. As Muslims, we are servants of God and have different destinies and abilities. Please don't put pressure on yourself. Be mature and try to handle your family by telling them the reality. I wrote this after reading the comments, not after watching the video. However, I think Sana's video deserves more appreciation. May Allah ease your difficulties so that you can become a great psychologist. 🥇🎗 Remember that confidence, respect, and money come not only from knowledge but also from your faith and trust in Allah.

I gave MDCAT last year. I like the subject biology but I have blood phobia so I never was passionate about becoming a doctor because I can't see other people in pain. But my teachers and relatives told me to give MDCAT. I gave SZAMBU MDCAT without enough prepation because of anxiety problems and got 155 marks it was a huge relief after MDCAT day.I decided to took a gap year because my mental and physical health was destroyed and also most of university admissions were closed. Now I have decided to choose to get admission in Quaide azam university in BS psychology this year. I really like this subject. Waiting to learn more about the scope and opportunities in this field from you.

Definitely you should consider it. Doing Clinical from KEMU is fantastic as your internship will be from the psychiatry ward of MAYO hospital which is a fantastic and broad dep to gain experience.

Dear BS psychology.. you are talking about physiology which is totally different. In Pakistan you should have masters in clinical psychology for being a professional psychologist but in India definitely I am sure the masters in psychology should be very important.

In india To be a clinical psychologist, M.phil in clinical psychology or psy.d is required (the eligibility criteria for both the courses is Masters in psychology), one more diploma course is there named PDCP (after masters), the one will be a associate clinical psychologist

If you know that biology isn't your strong point then I would say you should not pursue the medical. But let me tell you that there is also 25 to 30% role of biology in psychology as well to better understand the anatomy of human brain

Thanks for reaching out! It's great to see your interest in psychology. But sorry Sonali transition from Zoology to Psychology for your MSc isn't possible. If you want to pursue your career in psychology you have to do BS (Hons) or BSc in Psychology again. Wishing you all the best on your academic journey!
