I had braces for 2 years, and I had to get four teeth pulled out (two on the top and two on the bottom). I had a giant over bite and my bottom teeth were crowding. Those two years of pain were WORTH it! My teeth are much easier to clean without all the crowding at the bottom and the over bite doesn't hide my bottom teeth as much anymore. My face was swollen most of the time because I guess my mouth is just REALLY sensitive. Thanks for reading this all the way!

I know this pain. I got a set of braces with the palette extender. They did take it off after a few months, but the rest of the braces stayed for another 2 years. Then another year later, I got more put on. They stayed for another 2 years, but when we went in for the removal appointment, they realized that they had put them in wrong!! So they corrected them, and then they had to stay for another two years! This time I also had a spring thing installed on a few that was supposed to push those teeth apart. This thing was like a freaking cheese grater on my cheek, I had to stuff my mouth with wax in order to try and not gouge out my gums. Then there was another metal ring inserted between one tooth and another that was crooked. My gums grew over it, and I told them this when they were taking it out, but they didn’t believe me, so when they did try to take it out, it just sliced my gums up for about 15 minutes before they noticed. Braces are pure torture.

Hearing about your wisdom tooth surgery made me think of my first MRI scan when i was still very young. I don't remember why i had to get it done all i remember is we went to the hospital, they stuck me with a needle that hurt as usual, sat me up in a small hospital bed like the ones they have in the back of ambulances. As they where getting ready to put me to sleep they had the tube connected to the syringe in my arm and i was actually able to watch the white sleep inducing fluid go through the tube like one of those plastic crazy straws. THE EXACT MOMENT the fluid reached the end of the tube and went into my body my vision became pitch black instantly and just as quickly as i was knocked out i find myself waking up in a wheelchair feeling incredibly drowsy despite the whole awake, asleep, awake again experience seeming to happen in the span of 5 seconds

As a person who has experienced the rubber bands and palate expander it’s actually not that bad the palate expander usually feels weird and annoying at the start. But after a week or two it u will start getting used to it and u gotta brush out the food stuck in ur expander or if u have a water flosser u gotta water floss it and keep doing it until it comes out and u also gotta gargle water to help get it out

3:22 I remember each and every step of this annoying expander. When I first got it, they had to jam the so called “donuts” between my teeth, and then left it for like 3 minutes and took it off. Then they jammed the expander and said to twist the tiny hole in the middle 1 time each day for the next 2 weeks with a special key they gave my mom. I remembered having a pillow on the floor laying on the carpet waiting for my mom to put the key into my mouth twisting it making my mouth tight. And also, when I got my extenders, it numbed my molars for 2 weeks which made it hurt when I chew any food, and I could NOT barely swallow anything. I also was about to get ANOTHER extender for the bottom of my mouth too, and I instantly knew that it would be so uncomfortable(cuz the extender literally goes under your tongue) But I never got it because my dentist changed and the new dentist said that I didn’t really need it because it doesn’t really do anything, and that same day that my new dentist said that, she took special pliers for your teeth and yanked my extender from my molar which hurt so bad, and put braces on my teeth and got surgery for my extra gums between my teeth (which is called fibromatosis) Now I got straight teeth from all that suffering.
