I know this pain. I got a set of braces with the palette extender. They did take it off after a few months, but the rest of the braces stayed for another 2 years. Then another year later, I got more put on. They stayed for another 2 years, but when we went in for the removal appointment, they realized that they had put them in wrong!! So they corrected them, and then they had to stay for another two years! This time I also had a spring thing installed on a few that was supposed to push those teeth apart. This thing was like a freaking cheese grater on my cheek, I had to stuff my mouth with wax in order to try and not gouge out my gums. Then there was another metal ring inserted between one tooth and another that was crooked. My gums grew over it, and I told them this when they were taking it out, but they didn’t believe me, so when they did try to take it out, it just sliced my gums up for about 15 minutes before they noticed. Braces are pure torture.

I was basically bed ridden for around 5 days, I got the surgery on Tuesday and only started being able to even about opening my eyes on Thursday, and only recovering enough that I didn’t need a cool cloth by Sunday.

I had braces for 2 years, and I had to get four teeth pulled out (two on the top and two on the bottom). I had a giant over bite and my bottom teeth were crowding. Those two years of pain were WORTH it! My teeth are much easier to clean without all the crowding at the bottom and the over bite doesn't hide my bottom teeth as much anymore. My face was swollen most of the time because I guess my mouth is just REALLY sensitive. Thanks for reading this all the way!

Hearing about your wisdom tooth surgery made me think of my first MRI scan when i was still very young. I don't remember why i had to get it done all i remember is we went to the hospital, they stuck me with a needle that hurt as usual, sat me up in a small hospital bed like the ones they have in the back of ambulances. As they where getting ready to put me to sleep they had the tube connected to the syringe in my arm and i was actually able to watch the white sleep inducing fluid go through the tube like one of those plastic crazy straws. THE EXACT MOMENT the fluid reached the end of the tube and went into my body my vision became pitch black instantly and just as quickly as i was knocked out i find myself waking up in a wheelchair feeling incredibly drowsy despite the whole awake, asleep, awake again experience seeming to happen in the span of 5 seconds

I needed to get something called a “Cervical Headgear Appliance” because I had an even WORSE Bart Simpson lip. It was so bad that not even Braces could help with the overbite. That dental impression was pain, I almost threw up as it touched my sensitive palate. I still have the appliance today.

This is me! I have braces,and a palette expander, also a weird metal contraption with bolts on the side, that doesn’t allow me to touch my top back molars to my bottom back molars. It sucks. ALSO I get a line MOLDED on to the inside of my cheek if I sleep on a certain side 😅

yeah, I feel your pain. I had a Herbst device (true suffering) and a pallet expander at once for 2 years. then after like 6 months of joy I got BRACES! It's been almost 2 years with them on now, so I 100% know what pain and suffering you went through. and if anyone is wondering about him going to sleep, yes, it is as if there was a missing scene. 1 second they were talking to me, and the next second I was in the waiting room. it was instantaneous. (I think I was talking too long...)
