Welcome to day four in the studio week.
Today I would like to talk about how I go from an idea to a new foundation paper piecing pattern.
Tomorrow is the final day of the studio week. That will be a live Q&A from the studio. We'll start at 8pm Dutch time, 2pm EST. Hope to see you there!

The giraffes are so cute! Perhaps you will offer the pattern in your shop, for excercising FPP?

Thank you for your great tips. I think you are very gifted at FPP. I would love to take a design class on this if you offer it so I could learn to use the software you described.

I really like your method using the Kona color card pieces! That is such a great idea, I can see how that will be very fun to play with and useful!! And one could always replace a Kona color with a similar printed color from one’s stash, if there’s something similar. Thank you for sharing this!!

I am not familiar with the designer of the yellow print you showed today. Could you please let me know the designer spelled out and the fabric company that sells the fabric. I would like to see if it is sold in the United States. I like to see and feel the fabrics I buy. Looking forward to Friday's video. Your shop is fantastic.

Those giraffe’s are so adorable. I love how you created them. Would love to see you sew a block together from start to finish. The ironing process is hard for me to decide how to iron the seams. I will be watching tomorrow but it may be after the live is over due to time differences. Love your studio. It’s absolutely perfect in every way including that awesome garden view. So happy for you and looking forward to your future videos! 💕

Very interesting as to how you design a pattern. I love how you use color cards from Kona. I love Kona cotton solids. My favorite.

Do you use a wool mat when ironing? At what stage do you remove the paper portion of the foundation? How do you feel about the trend of ironing your seams open? What brand of batting do your prefer? Thanks. What thread do you piece with?

What is tea paper? I do not believe we have it in the United States, at least under that name. Love the tour and all of your videos, thank you.

Teabag paper is similar to a very lightweight non-fusible interfacing. It is the paper used to make tea bags - so you can imagine the texture. It isn't easily found in North America.
