This is the goal for me man. I just started. Working out of a 1996 accord lol. I love the work. Always have. I was gonna work for an established detailing company in my area. I had them do a ceramic coating for my car. While they did an excellent job I saw spots they missed. Spots I wouldn't have missed. I went back there and told them. They wanted to hire me immediately. They said $20-23 an hour to start out, which is not bad at all. But I told myself what if I just do it myself. Ever since I've been really happy with it. I got one more year of college and it's game on after that.

Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use kzbin.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.

I've been working at a detailing shop for 3 years or so, and I understand the difficulty of some interiors. My least favorite thing to do is vacuum dog hair out of carpets and seatbacks that don't release it easily. One suggestion I might make, from one detailer to another, is to wear a headlamp for interiors. I work in a shop, so we don't have sunlight at our disposal, but extra lighting still might be beneficial as the light reveals any imperfections. Keep it up man, enjoying the videos!

And another comment lol I love to help. The Wood Lint Remover is also great for when you are done pressure washing floor mats and you wanna strain a bunch of water out instead of having to keep emptying your extractor a bunch of times instead of minimal empty counts. The wood lint remover is a life saver and I use it more and more with my details.

Good job on your video. I appreciate your honesty. I started my detail business in 1965 as a sophomore in high school. My prices back then was $ 25.00for a complete wash and add hard shell turtle wax was $10.00. Blue Coral was a premium polish and wax back then. Application was with a Craftsman 3/8" Drill with a buffing pad. The end result was my best selling tool. Earned a lot of money on those summers off. In the 70's I had a pole barn in the back of my property. My business took off. Teaching Auto Shop and Welding classes during the day and detailing at night. Malco was the high end detailing chemicals. Prices went up accordingly. Flash ahead to 2022 I have about 43 loyal customers that depend on me to make their vehicles look great. At 73 years old and enjoying retirement it's difficult to say no to clients that are now friends. Today total wash with ceramic car soap, decontamination, iron spray is $65.00 basic wash above and polishing and ceramic coating is $ 300.00. It should be higher but hey I'm retired.

It really depends on the market and client. We print stickers and have “customers” come and say that the next guy can do it cheaper while we have other returning customers that we just send a invoice and they get that taken care of without a budge. It’s always hard starting out since your still learning and getting your routine down but once you feel like you got that covered test new grounds and raise your prices. In logo design one designer can charge $20 while another will charge 20k the only difference is one values his time more. Market your self as a premium brand and that’s how people will treat you. Don’t let people tell you your over charging if others are willing to pay more for the service. Just the way of business.

When people overmarket themselves they cam also go out of buisness. If I see a shop with a ton of money in it and it advertises themselves that way, I don't even call because I know I'm about to be charged for really expensive operation costs instead of the service i need done. As a customer, its important to see where the money is really going as well, because that's how you judge the honesty of a shop. A shop with a bunch of clean snap on tools and equipment for days with hardly any work is just as bad a sign as a shop with 50 unfinished projects on the lot.

For your basic washes try using not so expensive products and for your premium washes used the top quality products to drive your price. And maybe for your basic washes don’t add the shine because the rims and tires just need to be washed not diamond quality. Make sure basic is basic so you will have better levels to your pricing while also making the levels worth your time and money in replacing your products. Been in your exact situation. Charging around your prices and me and my brother exhausted everyday for little money. I would suggest you get rid of the express wash unless they have multiple vehicles at the same location, your really not making much on those unless you do a lot of volume but you do exhaust yourself also. I would suggest you increase your prices by at least $50. Yes you won’t do as much volume as you are now but TRUST ME you definitely get cleaner cars and more quality clients. Especially since you are fairy establishment with a good track record and lots of review, new clients won’t have a problem paying your new prices. Hope this helps

My detail business, I charge simplified pricing, and then add additional services (wet sand, road paint, interior scent bomb, remove seats, etc) and come from a flat rate mentality. Sometimes you win some, while sometimes (rarely) you lose some. But either way, you always win in the end. And customers are happy... all because they remember simplified pricing.

We’re about the same on pricing but paint correction I’m going up on my price I went to a body shop and I told him the dealership down the street called me to buff a Dooley for them and I told them $400 and they didn’t want to pay the price after the body shop quoted them a price of $1200! I told the guy that that same costumer who’s truck it was for paid me herself because she saw my work and wanted it done! The body shop guy saw it and said I was cheating myself that he wouldn’t buff for no less than a $1000.00 you are right bro we are going to learn and grow together

I know I’m pretty late, but new to this all. My roommate just had his interior vacuumed and cleaned, with a super basic wash on the outside, which he didn’t request or pay for. He paid $280 and gave a $40 tip, in Maine. I just road with him last week and I was thinking about how clean the car is and then bam a few days later dropping $320 for the easiest clean on the planet.

For animal hair y'all use the Lily brush. Use the MJJC foam cannon. Use the uber flex hose. I'm thinking maybe charge per mile anything outside of a 30 mile radius. Only because after that it's costing you gas plus adding 60 plus miles on your mobile vehicle every time you travel that far. Never travel more than an hour out unless you feel the guaranteed price is right. Also charge a deposit that is non refundable and also get contracts protecting you from any damages that are prior to the detail. I'm probably forgetting some stuff but I hope this helps.

I am sure you have learned this by now but, Let the customer know that the $150 is the starting price of your package, If your vehicle is in an excessive damage of condition, the service price can change based upon the condition such as pet hair or excessive trash in vehicle. This is 2022 you have learned a lot so far and we appreciate you sharing your journey with the public. Don't share everything with us though. Some things are better kept inside of your company. LOL. God Bless you Mr. Hunter.

Thanks for the video bro. Keep up with the content. I’m looking to start a detailing shop of my own. I’m currently in the process of outfitting my garage with what I need. I’m not quite ready to go mobile nor do I even have a business. I’m just using friends and family for test customers. Any tips you can give me on what cleaners are good for interior and exterior, or tips for getting recognized, it would be appreciated. Thanks. Good luck.

Been enjoying your videos !!! Just subscribed …. I’m doing mobile detailing on the side out of my Kia Sportage, hoping to one day start my own mobile detailing business. Detailing cars is therapeutic for me I drive as far as the car takes me I charge 100 for small cars and suvs and 125 for large trucks and suvs 150 and up for XL vehicles on the interior … interior details come with a quick wash just to give the extra little smile 125 for exterior washes for small cars and suvs and 150 and up for large and extra large vehicles. This is just me nobody else takes me up to 4 hours to do a full detail on the interior depending on how dirty it is. And about 2-2.5 hours for exterior I’m very picky with my work so I like to make every as perfect as possible

Honestly I’m just starting out brand new rn about a month in by myself with my truck and products I’m learning to get faster and still provide same quality I just have been struggling with options and packages have a quick wash for $40 wipe down and vacuumed of the inside but I feel for the quality I’m providing inside and out I need to raise prices but I don’t want too yet since I still have some products I don’t have like compound I have the machine no pads/much experience did it once on my DD and came out really nice but took all day lmao .. but all part of the process I know it’s only my first month so not doing bad got decent clients at least one car or 2 a day doesn’t sound much but for me starting out just going head first into it alone I was surprised I had a car every day and grateful for it

This is good bro, you do it a little cheap, but it's perfect. I guess it depends on where your located too. Cause some places it's cheaper for the same thing than it is near me cause prices vary state to state. But thanks, cause I was wondering what to charge for a express and idc where I am that price is fair in any state.

i like how you said based on condition cause people expect something different heres a list of things people ask about: blood stains, vomit, feces, dead animal removal (sometimes they hit things like birds) carpet mud removal, stain removal, fungal spore removal, tar removal, traffic film, rust, MUD heavy mud or flooded cars yes theres been some that have been in a flooded area these need heavy repair due to mold that could form. heavy pollinated cars, heavily black spotted cars. you have to be ready for the worst sometimes theres spiders all inside the car and leaves and other crittters hell there was a lady who had a tiny alligator inside her van you just never know what you will find people also leave their trash in the car and expect you to clean it and dump it i have a fee for that as well.
