Roughly just a thousand. Put as much money back into the company as possible upfront. My favorite thing about detailing is that there is A LOT of ways to do things correctly. Its a very regimented service but within those guidelines theres a lot of freedom (ie: brands for chemicals, gear, marketing)

RE: Marketing. Get a big metal A-frame sign at the front of the street while you're working. At least a couple people will stop, ask a couple questions and grab a business card. Some book straight away. The best is when you're almost done the detail and you can show them the work you did. When I talk to people in person I get a lot of new business. Whereas if I go door to door with flyers it tends to be a complete waste of time. If you have a nice A-frame sign tho, you'll easily get 30% more business :)

Chances are most of the clients that request mobile detailing lease their vehicles. Usually have disposable income. If they’re really worried about their own ride they do it their self.
@putrid25292 жыл бұрын
Yeah most of these mobile detailer don't really care about detail or doing things the right way, just turning a profit. It takes me an average of 4 hours to do a car by myself. I don't make much, and I can only do 1 car a day, but I do it right.

The thing i hated about doing mobile detailing was the money I left on the table. I’m in DFW so there’s a lot of traffic. The time it takes to setup/breakdown, traffic and time it takes to go to every location I left around 450 a day on the table vs doing it out of my garage. I can tell clients to drop off their vehicles the night before or early morning and then start on them around 6am. No extra money on a shop since I’m doing it from home. No money on gas, vehicles or extra insurance. I will be getting a shop down the line as we grow. When it comes to tools get you a BLO AIR-S, Mytee extractor, McCulloch steamer, Koch Chemie chemicals and make sure you get microfiber wash. This guy is a genius in marketing. Gonna start taking his route

@@rezzo_6fn659 Yeah it does add up compared to the house set up. You'll just have different clients for each. Make sure to check the margins on shop ownership. This dude in the video was very smart to simply lease a space where his guys can operate maybe do something like that when you're ready.

So likely gross margins are ~60%, and operating margins are largely in his control, given he makes decisions around marketing, sales, admin costs. Would be fascinating to see their P&L and balance sheet, to see what they're making on invested capital, and what they're reinvesting.
