My DREAM is HERE! First Drive in New FERRARI DAYTONA SP3

This is the Ferrari Daytona SP3, and my first time at the wheel of the Icona Series hypercar from Maranello! With only 599 in the world, this special example is part of the Selected Car Collection in Denmark, who have made this incredible, dream opportunity possible. Come along for the ride!
Following from the Monza SP1/SP2, the Daytona SP3 is the second member of Ferrari's Icona line-up, focusing on heritage, historic design, and throwbacks to legendary Ferrari models. In this case, it comes equipped with a 6.5l naturally aspirated V12 making 840hp, a removable targa roof panel over the top of the carbon fibre monocoque, and everything that you want from a limited special series Ferrari model. Interestingly, the Icona Series has created this possibility for Ferrari to simultaneously offer the traditional emotion alongside the latest technology in their portfolio.
However, after taking a look around the Silkeborg location of the Selected Car Collection, the Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a car that I've never previously driven and thanks to the team, the chance to find out what it's about has become possible. While I have seen the car back when it was first introduced, even been to the Atelier in Maranello to spec my dream example, and even had a passenger ride at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but this time it's my turn to hop into the driver's seat and see what it's like.
On paper, the Daytona SP3 is everything I love in car, so now it's time to see if it ticks every single box in the way I hope! Prepare for plenty of V12 engine sound, and perhaps some surprises along the way.

Not a Comment specifically on this Video, but i'm German and while i don't own a Collection as amazing as yours, i do own a Nissan GT-R and an Audi R8 (1st pre-facelift Generations) and i drive them daily and often through Europe since the 2010s Anyway i noticed many Times and in especially the last Video where you were at Brabus that you pointed out how smooth and well the Autobahn works and Lane Etiquette. I just want to thank you for pointing that out to People. Maybe they understand now why having no Speed Limits on a ton of the Autobahn works so well without Catastrophes. remember the first time i drove a Car in the USA (and everytime after that) it was an absolute Nightmare, everyone overtakes from any Lane at any Speed, it was crazy. Americans always tell me that's because getting a License in the USA is not even remotely difficult and anyone even inebriated could pass their License Test and that explains it all Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps

oh absolutely. once i became 18 years old, i didnt need to do any drivers education and just needed to look at my state's driving manual to learn. as long as you have the documents required you can just jump right into the multiple choice knowledge test and if you pass it you can do a driver's test. it gets people on the roads faster, but the result is almost 20 thousand deaths from car accidents in 2023 in the usa. also, you dont need to pay really any money to get the license if you pass. i payed like 50 dollars for the entire process.

@@drewypooy25 Damn that's crazy. But i do understand why it's like that, In the USA driving like 1-2 Hours to work isn't uncommon. Meanwhile here in Europe most People drive on average maybe 20--30 Minutes, even if they live rural and work in a City. It's all much closer here and you can even end up in a neighboring Country driving 2 Hours. Meanwhile in the USA i have been told a lot of People drive often 8 or more Hours to visit Family for Christmas etc. So i understand why it's more necessary to have it cheap and easier to get a License. Of course the Downside is that driving on the Autobahn at high Speeds with other Cars doing so, you are more safe than on a US Highway

It is not that simple. Germans are organized people/nation and most people there follow the rules without blinking an eye. And if you do not follow rules in Germany, punishment comes very fast. :) But most other nations are not like that, and America is mix of all nations from all around the world...

@@k.r.99 I have seen simple f12 and 812 in real life and TDF too. Believe me that F12 tdf is way more beautiful than f12 berlinetta. I haven’t seen 812 comp in real life though. In my opinion 458 speciale is better looking car than italia and pista and many people agree on that. I feel like speciale has sexiness added with the beauty in its design. I haven’t seen laferrari but in pictures she has got beautiful lines and curves.

It's a busy car to look at. What is interesting, people who look at them a lot, seem to kind of move away from the SP3 design a bit. Often people warm up to a design, but when speaking to dealer reps, people who own them, and people who have seen them up close many times, it kind of gets too much.

It's interesting that you touch upon the air management of the SP3 and 812 GTS. Comparing the F8 and 812 which share some design elements of the window frame and the buttresses. The F8 has a super calm cabin with little wind, even at high speeds, yet the 812 GTS is noisy and there's a ton of buffeting even at relatively "low" speeds, e.g 80 km/h. I don't know if you have been to Formula Auto in Lyngby and seen the emerald green SP3, but I had a go in that car and had the same experience as you. How did they get that so wrong? Granted it's not a car you drive a lot, but it's still frustrating. It's the same with the 812 GTS vs 812 Comp A. The Comp A does a better job than the GTS for some reason. Both the F8 and 812 has those little flics on top of the frame to divert air away from the cabin, yet the cabin is windy in the 812. The Roma is a different kind of car, and the air easily travels above you, and it hits nothing. All you need is that deflector in the back. It's the same with a 911 Cab. Few cabs do air management as well as a 911 Cab.

Hey Shmee, the stones you are hearing are actually hitting the lower-underside parts of the carbon thub, don't worry one bit about it. The MC20 also has this peculiar sound going on and it gives you so much race vibes (these are the exact sounds you hear on a racetrak with a carbon thub racecar)

Still some manufacturers building cars with some special engine's red bull is building a hypercar with V10 Bugatti a 16 Lambo and Ferrari 12s etc. adding ev assist doesn't change the engines sound no negatives there. Great engine's not completely going away

F50 hands down. Far less made, it’s a NA V12, one of the best exhausts ever, used an F1 derived engine in the car and they’re shooting in value right now which makes them better investments too.
