i can't lie i cannot afford an in depth course on this, or land, but i'm living on what i call homestead light (a practice homestead with limited features i'm just squatting on lol) but your free content alone is so helpful i feel wrong for taking it. but thank you!

Hi Curtis. What are you referring to when you regard a property’s climate zone ? Boreal ? What is the terminology so I can research it please. I’m in Montana. In Eureka, the border town near BC. Eureka Montana. I have river frontage. On the Tobacco river. Curious about my climate category. I really want to research before I build a structure on it. I worry about wildfires of. Of course. Clearly area for a 1500 square foot cabin and giant garden. Forest service borders 2 sides. One is thinned. The one across the River is thick. Thank you Love your content !!!! I apologize for asking about my well twice.

Shared driveways are bad you get into legal fights when one person blocks you or starts to build entrances on your land

Good point… a shared drive is a red flag

We have a farmers lane for our driveway. We didn’t have the $10,000 we would have needed to have it actually created as driveway. So in the spring and the wet weather it is really messy.

A skidster with tracks is expensive, but think how much you can get done by yourself, with various implements..

So very helpful. Thank you. What a blessing these latest videos really are.

Your driveway looks like an old logging road. A buddy of mine has a driveway built on an old skidder trail and it's very steep and subject to erosion.

I missed it, did he ever reach the end of his driveway?

My driveway is a half mile. I walked or drove the horse sled for the first 8 years before build a road in.

I graduated in Lac La Biche, Alberta. I laughed pretty hard when you said “Lac La Beesh”. I suppose that’s probably how it should be pronounced in French but no one in the town would ever say it that way unless they were joking around lol

Linneus isn't too far from me, the northern third of MO is excellent for homesteading, and land is reasonable.

Is your long driveway entirely on your private land. Or does this include the municipal road ways as well. I'm just wondering because that's a lot of road for your average size

Hey Curtis. Will this course eventually make it's way to FromTheField?
@offgridcurtisstone Жыл бұрын
No. From the field isn’t a course platform

So the previous owner had the road but he could not make up with his car in winter? I am confused. If you did build the whole road (cutting out the trees, using bouldozer, etc.) then he would not be able to get to his place even in summer unless on ATV
@offgridcurtisstone Жыл бұрын
During the winter. Tons of snow.
@Alien2799 Жыл бұрын
@@offgridcurtisstone I see. So how do you remove the snow and he was not able to do the same? Sorry about all the questions. Just trying to understand the mechanics of living off the grid :)
@offgridcurtisstone Жыл бұрын
Are you serious? Never seen snow before or something?
@Alien2799 Жыл бұрын
@@offgridcurtisstone Maybe if you were able to explain things better and were a better communicator. So he could not be bothered to remove the snow. Probably he lived somewhere else in winter. Here, I fixed it for you. Why not say that from the beginning?

Long driveway is well worth the cost and investment. Lots of work and Maintenance but a necessity to keep the libertards at bay
