the passive is every 3 hits the next ability gets the crit. so if a skill does 3 hits, your next skill will crit. if it hits 2 times, your next ability will proc the passive to be ready for the next skill. basically if the skill procs the passive it wont use it itself, it will be on the next ability, which is why sometimes it seems like its on the 3rd ability.

Man I love spear but death from above needs some love.. 7 out of the 10 times I cast its interrupted by the smallest thing(a mob,boss mech, line of sight, a pebble on the ground, of the targets now out of range, or the target just moves and it misses) for a skill that’s the “highlight” of spear it’s almost completely useless let alone waiting a full minute just to use it again.

Something ive been trying out is magic melee endurance, i find magic being an issue so went with Weakness resistance, this trait alone counters so many builds to the point it shuts a few if them down. Cant be poisoned, burnt, ignited, cursed, thundered. This also counts for tevant and balendir weapons. Been plahing with the rotations and i use Nimars sword for the stun (stops skills with a cast time) while at the same time a low cooldown, so able to mix it into the attacks to extend a combo to a longer one. I find people spam javalin right after gaining the stats which is good and all but i recommend to save it for when theyre running because by then the gap closers are back up. Throw the javalins leap through the fire and start whaling on them all over again. 🤫

How much weaken res you have? I was thinking about it also but mages have like 200-300 weaken chance as basic and its kinda hard to get that much to counter it

601 resistance, with food goes higher and with passives goes over 700. Trying to work stun resistance into it now.

I haven't tested it yet, but I read the Retalitory Strike spear passive to mean "Dealing damage 3 times with *the same skill* increases the crit of the next skill," which would mean that it only procs for skills that deal damage 3+ times.

It'll be around 700 at the end but regardless, this is a large scale/gvg pvp build. Also to be clear, my goal usually for T1 is to be in that 700-900 range to cover the unintended melee evasion buffs that some builds proc. I've mentioned this many times on stream to the point i'm considering making a video on it but here's the more detailed explanation: 1) End game t1 meta is ranged/magic evasion for large scale pvp, not melee evasion meaning there will be a LOT of targets to choose from on the battlefield that will not be running any melee evasion (ex: bow dagger). How many ghost wolf builds do you see for DPS right now? How many Shadow Harvester 2 piece builds do you see for DPS right now? Majority? None of those players will be running Melee evasion aside from the occasional staff user that plays around his high focus buff. 2) Spear & Fortitude coming in introduces even more endurance builds 3) Anyone who has 700 hit as melee in T1 and is complaining about missing everything is essentially just openly admitting that they don't know who to target in large scale PVP. I'm not even trying to be rude by saying this, but GENERALLY people who say "you wont hit anyone with that hit" towards a large scale pvp build in T1 usually aren't very good at the game. My recent "here's what double archeboss can do" pvp highlight video showcases me deleting people in the most recent siege and that was with 700 hit (if you watch closely, there are plenty of players who I miss, there are just more players who I hit). Keep in mind melee evasion is meta early game and we are still only 2 months in with plenty of newer/slower players. Melee evasion does become more prevalent with runes, T2, and smaller scale PVP but again...this is for large scale organized PVP. At the end of the day, if you can stack HIT then you 100% want it, it's important, but you can't have everything stat-wise, gotta give up something. A lot of GOOD veteran players give up hit for large scale so they can kill faster against those they can kill and survive longer against those trying to kill them, this is at the cost of sacrificing being able to kill those who counter their build via evasion a bit faster. TLDR you're trolling your guild if you're melee attacking a melee evasion user. Ask yourself this, in GVG and Siege, what do you die to the most? The lightning bolts, fire barrages, flash waves and arrows? Or a greatsword stun lock combo. There's a reason you see very little GS users at the top of the kill boards. The answer to that can change in small scale so if all you're doing is small scale PVP....yes, build for more hit. If it's worth anything to you, I've experienced all forms of PVP at the highest levels of now two regions across a bunch of different weapon combinations and builds (low hit and high) for a long time now. I was also the rank 1 SNS GS user in ranked arena (peaking top 5 overall or so...with 200 ping btw) before i stopped queuing retiring @ 100 wins and 6 losses all while using my own builds from scratch - and I did that with 800 hit in my build. Still working out SNS Spear though! Hope this helps

It's still really good without Bellandir, the slow is massive. He even explicitely says in the video that you use it without bellandir to stick to target after the first CCs are done.

My build is def got a better set up. 19k hp 900 melee and ranged resist. 790 magic resistance. 1k hit 500 heavy attack chance. 28% attack speed. 400 skill damage resist. 43% block chance.

As someone who floats around 20k as a SnS/GS brawler, if you think your HP determines how “tanky” you are, you have a severe misunderstanding of how this game works. High HP does not usually equal hard to kill… that being said, 20-23k is around the sweet spot, but having less means the stats were invested elsewhere and should be observed if it produces results.

Not necessarily true. At first, spear seems underwhelming and will turn off a lot of people. But after 2 days of theory crafting, tweaking and testing. Spear RIPS if you know how and when to press your buttons, I assure it melts. Both AoE and ST. Now in regards to PvP it’s definitely more nuanced and I don’t see a small scale version of a pvp build topping GS, however for GvG it’s very promising if you take the time to learn it. The damage is there, just have to learn how to move. If spear has shown anything it’s that there’s a new skill ceiling and people need a tiny bit more patience since they expected they’d just pick up a spear and start winning.

Not really, people keeps forgetting that Spear its a multi-hit weapon, can hit up to 5-15 times per skill (the important ones), you really don't need much hit chance to make this weapon work. And the people who runs with Melee Evasion are literally made of paper, if you can land 50% of your hits (not hard with Spear) they will be ded. With GS if you miss one single hit from the combo then you are screwed because your kill potential will be gone but it's not the same thing with the Spear

I do agree that kanons builds/guides are kinda mid tho. Been playing sns spear and tested it in war games and I can say it’s not worth going for a single target like with gs. Sns spear doesn’t have enough single target burst to 1 shot like a guillotine would. And ignite just works a lot better when you’re hitting multiple people.Your best bet is diving clumps and getting your fury/javelin combo off or you can single someone out to get ember stacks then throw your javelin into a clump

Hope this helps -- Not all SNS take buffs, this depends on your comp, you can be an SNS that doesn't provide as many buffs for this team, you can be one that deals Z dps and fully supports his team. Even asking this is wild. Proccing ignite due to low crit mainly comes from passive i mention at the end of the video. Every 3rd attack you do will give you a ton of crit. Crit is sacrificed in the build b/c again...you can't have everything in a build...you're a tank first in this, it's a 4 piece shock commander build. In defense to my builds, people who generally think my builds are "mid" are generally ignorant players who aren't aware that every good build in Throne is designed to fulfill a specific role. The vast majority of players who are 2 months in still look at builds thinking "okay what's the hit, crit, heavy, evasion/endurance and hp"? Getting wrecked after copying one of my builds without understanding what the build is for and how to play it is on the player. I would love to explain all my builds, but I just don't have the time to do it, i talk about it all the time on my stream though. My builds are designed to fulfill roles that I enjoy playing, this is why you don't really see any heal/support/zdps builds on my questlog. Respectfully, this comment is a great example of what i'm talking about. An ignorant less experienced player that just immediately labels the build as bad b/c he doesn't understand it. A legit build maker or top player would understand the build, why it was built that way, and how it's supposed to be played based off the numbers and gear. There is a massive difference when I'm critiqued by actual knowledgeable players versus yourself. One final note, this build in particular could 100% be off as I mentioned in the video, it's an update to promote ideas and to be used as a potential canvas to help direct others. The class has been out for 2 days and more importantly it needs to be tested across all forms of PVP extensively (the weapon that is)...in other words, we need time to cook with Spear to help us better choose which stats/gear pieces to prio for this weapon.
