Forest had a crazy season, points deduction, losing half the squad to AFCON, almost weekly apologies from PGMOL for mistakes they made which effected a lot of results negatively for us...we were in a false position really, I can't see next season being the same (but I wouldn't hold my breath) Nuno has a new slate to start...we need to improve with daft mistakes but i can't see us in the relegation mire.

Forest massively underperformed and were unlucky in alot of games. They are much better than almost every single prediction video I have seen is giving them credit for.

Forests number one problem last season was defending set pieces, think we let in 25-30 by seasons end which was suicidal with what those goals cost us points wise. There were some stinkers let in which you wouldn’t even see in non league, if we sorted that and halved the amount I think we will be alright as the rest of our open play game was a massive improvement on the year before. Add to the fact we’ve got a keeper in now who doesn’t look like a rabbit who’s just about to get mowed down by a pissed up Porsche driver every time the ball goes to his feet.

As a forest fan you can’t really bring Brentford being 7 points above us isn’t a good excuse, I understand that the money spending was our fault and that we did it to ourselves but nuno came in with AFCON, winless in something like 14 games and all the FFP business was happening, nuno did his job with the players he had and got us an outstanding keeper compared to turner who cost us at least 6 points and ffp with another 4 and var doing us in as well we could get at the very least another 3 points, that’s 13 points gone from either one awful player, money or bad officiating, now that nuno has the whole season and can make his own signings I would be happy with 15th or 14th I don’t think we’ll go down.

Saints fan here - Been a big critic of Russell Martin's stubbornness, but have to hand it to him, he nailed every critic in the latter stages of the season. We played four different systems in our last few fixtures and playoffs, and nailed it every time. No better advert for that than the Playoff Final, where he played a defensive masterclass, which we hadn't seen all season. Think we'll see us play how we did in the final a lot next season. Considering we lost our keeper (possibly a blessing in disguise), Stu Armstrong (best player this season) and Che Adams (focal point of the team), how he got us through the playoffs deserves enormous praise, whilst also nailing the myth that he only has one way of playing.

Russell Martin did switch to a back 5 towards the end of the season which really shored up our defense so he has shown some pragmatism. If he reverts back to his early system which leaked a lot of goals, he won't make it to game 38.

Toney hasn’t done shit for Brentford this season. Most of the season we’ve had a half-baked defense with Henry and Hickey out since October, and Ajer/Pinnock/Mee taking turns with injuries. I get no one outside Brentford will pay attention but this is just lazy. I mean I don’t expect to have the same injury crisis (🤞) where they’ll put wingers and midfielders at LB.

We have been very unlucky this season dropping more than 35 points from winning position in our games. Also like you said we have been riddled with injuries across our first team. Having to play players out of position & lack depth in our squad as well. This summer we need address a few key areas like bringing in backup LB, Backup ST, creative midfielder & a winger too. Expect us to kick on & push for mid table, don’t expect us to be in that relegation battle again tbh.

I dont really understand the difference between Newcastle and villa both got 7/8th and got 4th just swapped places this season mostly down to injuries look at expecectd points as was mentioned for man united Newcastle were 4th once again with villa 7th. Plus this season we don't have any europe and villa have champions league with extra games . Barring us losing Isak I don't see how villa are going to place higher. I don't think there is that much difference in the squad strengths but europe will take its toll its at least another 8 games where you have to play full strength squad.

Leicester: even with the points deduction, I think they stay up comfortably between 11th and 15th. Their squad is easily the best out of the promoted side and I think that depending on their point deduction they will finish around or a bit below mid table but not in a relegation battle. Ipswich: same as leicester. If mckenna stays than their style of play will take the Prem by surprise, and they will grab some notable results and survive comfortably. They will get hit by second season syndrome and get relegated next season like all new promoted sides usually do. Southampton: 19th. Their squad is easily the worst out of the three promoted sides. Definitely will be a tough season for them without jwp and their squad is just way to accustomed to the championship (Armstrong, adams). Everton will finish bottom they have been in complete free fall season after season with the exception of this season, plus if pickford leaves it will not look good for them. Either brentford (if toney leaves) or Nottingham forest will complete the bottom 3

@@KnightwingNinjayes but the style of play that Ipswich will showcase will be harder to adapt by most teams than southamptons, who have been a staple figure in the Prem for the previous decade, so I think The Prem will get a bit of a culture shock from Ipswich this season but the next one will be much harder for them unless they can directly improve their squad. Whereas Southampton will be figured out from the first or second match day by a lot of teams
