I told my team lead that I came across an opportunity and I was respectfully letting her know I very much wanted to apply for it. Usually bubbly and happy, she became very passive-aggressive. I asked her for a reference letter and she responded with “I am not allowed to do that....” and then suggested I refer my request for a reference to our HR lady who has only been with our organization for 3-4 months.... I’ve had very wonderful reviews so I’m not understanding why she has a problem doing so. How are you supposed to have references if your current employers are not supporting your growth by simply advocating for hard work they have personally witnessed be done. I know she has nothing bad to say about me. This feels very personal and like she wants to sabotage my chance of moving on.

Hi, Thanks for all the information. I just wanted to check, is it ok if I just mention the last three years of work experience under Work History in EE profile rather than mentioning my complete 7 years of experience, because getting the reference letters for the previous 4 years will be tough from previous employers? And we get the maximum CRS score at 3 years itself, so can we skip adding the other 4 years of experience. Can you please suggest ?

Hi, I have doubt about two employment letters. 1. One of them does not mention the address on the top of the letter, but just the logo, date, and the address at the bottom with the signature of my supervisor. Is that fine? 2. Another letter has a not so formal looking letterhead but has the company logo, and company details with duties and sign of my ex manager. It is a small startup, so I guess that is all they have. Will that be accepted?

Is only a deputation letter sufficient for reference letter as company unwilling to give reference letter since still working there. Also deputation letter has all details of basic responsibilities prior to deputation(6years) and new responsibilities after deputation as well but not mentioning the different job heading for past jobs. It also has current NOC on it and pay. Is seperate letters for each level in same company still required?

Hi Sir, Thanks for your guidance. I have one question, my company has already been shut down in 2020 and I was working there till 2019. But my employer is still ready to giving me a reference letter of recent date on comapny’s letterhead. So does that make sense to government officers that if company has already been shut down in 2020, how can they provide you reference letter in 2022 on letterhead? Hello! Sir, Thanks for your kind information, May I know what are the required documents to submit if I have a Clear Reference Letter from my employer? I've taken Reference Letter from my employer and also have Offer Letter, Joining Letter, Hike Letters, Change of Job Role Letter, and Pay Slips. Is it necessary to get Bank Statements and IT Returns or Form 16? If it is necessary can I submit the Bank Statement which is directly downloaded from my Internet banking or I need to have a Bank stamp on it? It would be more helpful if clarify my doubts. Thanks.

My employer provided the letter however the relevant job duties are not mentioned clearly. Can i obtain an email from my line manager confirming my additional job duties and attach his business card rather than have a letter notarized since notarizing may not be possible? Hi Kubeir, Truly said that "nobody is living in ideal world". So I have decided to get the ref letter from my current company's manager. But I want to ask 1 thing:- I worked with 3 more companies excluding current one. Do I need to get reference letter from all 3 companies? Can I use same format or different format? Out of 4 companies, 1 company has shut down. However I have their Offer/Relieving letter. I still have good terms with those friends who are working in different company now. If I get the reference letter from one of them ,will it be valid for my immigration purpose.

How about paid vacations ? . Like in my case I had worked outside India for 3 years, and every year 1 month is paid vacation , so when considering the work experience, all 36 months will be considered right ? ( hope the paid vacation will also be considered ) . Appreciate your support.

I had taken some time of my work(1 year) to start my own company. I have the company registration document. I have tax filing documents. I can get a reference letter from my chartered accountant saying I was working for so may hours. I can also give the reason why the company didn’t get registered until the product was created so that we didn’t have to file taxes every month when we were not going to get any income. This experience matches my previous NOC code 2173. Should I show this experience to IRCC or should I show it as a gap

I'm performing activities and working as a programmer writing software code which corresponds to NOC 2174, but while moving to Canada on a closed workpermit, my employer filed my application as with NOC 2171. I submitted reference letter from my dependent wife.. however i notice a little mistake on the start date of her letter. I am the principal applicant. Does the mistake matter? Knowing that she is only my dependent? In the opening sentence of the letter it is correclty stated... but in the duties and resoonsibilities section there a typo error on start date. I am facing an issue to get a letter of employment reference from my previous employer and the employer is no more available in Dubai and the business got shut down. However, I got a reference letter from my MD, who is presently residing in India, stating my roles and responsibilities and other relevant information, but it is not on the company letterhead and he provided his contact details in India. Thanks for sharing valuable information. I have one doubt, Is it OK to declare ONLY the work experience you want points for in EE profile ?. I have totally 6 years, but would prefer to show only 3 years as i have complete documents only for these. Though i have basic joining relieving letters pay slips, for the rest of 3 years.. Should it be handwritten and notarised or can be printed and then notarised? How is IRCC gonna know it’s actually written by the colleague? Sir, I had worked under a third party payroll company which deployed me at their client site during my period of employment. All my experience related documents are provided by a third-party company which had mentioned the client name too apart from this they told me that client company will provide nothing which explains your proof of work experience or job duties and my manager was also from the client company who knows my duties very well. My question here is that if I successfully get a reference letter from my third-party consultancy company's HR mentioning my duties and responsibilities with the client, will CIC count it as a valid reference letter or they will deny it and ask documents from client company which is impossible to get for me as per my contract terms ???

December 2016 went to Saudi Arabia, from May 2017 to September 2017 worked as a Marine Surveyor. November 2017, completed IADC Wellsharp drilling operation and IWCF well control certification. I have a question :- I have successfully achieved the target score of IELTS General and currently, I am waiting for ECA from WES. I have 2 years 10 months work experience in BSE/NSE listed companies, in the field of Life Insurance (my profile being tabbed under Sales and Marketing). Since October 2016, I have joined my family business. I am little hesitant about asking for letter of references from my employer companies. Though, I have Appointment/Joining Letter, Salary Slips, Relieving Letters from both the employers. I believe that these above mentioned documents convey the majority information required in an Ideal Reference Letter. (Specifically Roles and Responsibilities needed by me to get employed in the offered job). Do I still have to ask my companies to issue me letter of references to claim work experience points. Your documents should state or prove it was full time employment or work hours per week. Check your company policy or your offer letter

Well in such cases if there is an enquiry from IRCC to a specific email address, then the response should be from the same email or from an official email
