We’ve always known we’d be together so there was never really a rush to marry and there were so many things we wanted to do first. Plus we couldn’t financially pay for a wedding when we were younger.

I was still surprised :) Lots of couples choose a ring together then they may know its coming soon but not where, when or how. Matt and I travel a lot so its not like this was a random trip out of the blue. It was perfect and a nice surprise how it happened xx

It had been on our minds for a few years now but with writing a cookbook, moving, the big C and having a baby it just didnt feel like we had the space to plan it and there was never a rush. Beginning of last year it was something we talked about more and knew we wanted to get engaged within the year.

I picked out my ring without really knowing. We were picking out a gift for my mom, I was looking at the engagement rings while we were waiting, saw one that I liked, made a comment about it, we got my mom’s gift, my husband “went” to the bathroom, and purchased my ring. I was only part of the process of choosing a ring. I think Matt got the ring in September but I never saw it so I have no idea. I knew he would be proposing at some point but it was 6 months later so I really didnt know how or when.
