Oh wow!! Shana, I had absolutely no idea of the sheer amount of different graphite there was out there! Then you finish the video by saying that you don’t have as much of a collection as others? My mind most definitely is boggling right now… The images of the artwork produced by many of these, made my jaw drop. I have watched many of those videos at the time, but seeing so many in one place, well…🤯 You truly are the Queen of pencils, no matter the make, or specialty of many. Show you a pencil, and I just know the finished product is jaw dropping. Thank you so much for this extremely eye opening video. I have powdered graphic (totally unused), Graphitint in pan form, very enjoyable, and both Derwent and Faber Castell too. I have one chunky Art Graf hexagonal pencil too, but have no idea where it came from. 🤷♀️ Thanks again Shana. I’d love to watch a video with you using those 8 chunky solid graphite ‘pencils’. 👩🏻🎨🎨🖌️📝✏️

Thank you so much, Anita! I'm glad you like my pencil work so much, I appreciate you! It is crazy to think about how many different graphite options there are these days! Art Graf also makes a kneadable graphite putty. I have never tried it. It looks super messy. But it definitely looks intriguing! Lol Crazy the products that are out there now! I will see what I can do for a video for the big chunky graphite! I originally bought them so I could do a video, but got busy with other things. Thank you for letting me know you are interested!

At 2:20, an easier way to use the graphite is to put it in a clean spice jar with the little holes. I have one with powdered charcoal and to get it out I place a piece of cloth or paper over the opening and holding tightly I make a quick move upward toward the ceiling making sure the opening of the jar is covered at all times. That is great about your Dad. I am sentimental too for things like that.

That is an awesome tip! Thanks for sharing, I will have to try that! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who gets sentimental about things like that. Thank you! 🥰

Derwent Graphitint...love them! So good to work with and I love the colors in the set. They compliment their Drawing pencil set so well. And, I have that set as well.

Yes!! I love the Drawing pencils too! Such beautiful muted colors! The Drawing Pencils and Graphitint are two of my favorite lines that Derwent puts out!

Love my Blackwing. I use their different grades in my life drawing class and for my general drawings. Their website and their boxes tell you what type of graphite each pencil has. Some stores sell these open stock but you have to look for these stores. Plus these pencils are fun! I give them as gifts to other artists. I use mine down to the nub.

I love working with water soluble graphite. At the moment, I've only used the Derwent pencils, but there is a tin of Faber-Castell just waiting for me to play. I want to try that Art Graf graphite in the round tin - looks like it could be fun.

As a graphite fan, I’ve really enjoyed your video. I have some of the same supplies as you have: some Faber Castell Graphite Aquarelle pencils (included in the 26 Pitt Graphite set), the Technalo set, the box of Pitt Graphite Matt and the Art Graf stick. I love all of them. I’d like to try the Graphitint, but I have a big set of water soluble color pencils, and despite being a different product, I shouldn’t buy any more! 😅

You have a wonderful collection, all great products! Yeah, I understand that feeling, I shouldn't buy any more art supplies for a while, either. But, I probably will haha!

Oh, so many different graphite products!😀 I used to find graphite rather boring until a few months ago when I tried the the FC Graphite Aquarelle for the first time and -- to my great surprise! -- they were so much fun that they broke me out of an art block! I also have the FC Graphite Matt, which are nice but not as exciting. 😄 The Graphitint are on my wishlist... but what is on top of my wishlist is MORE TIME to actually use all these supplies 😂😭

Yes! Water-soluble graphite is just do much fun! It's my favorite way to work with graphite! I understand that feeling. There are so many supplies in the world, and so little time to play with them all!

Love this! I have the small set of Derwent water soluble pencils that I love to use for preliminary sketches, and the Graphtint 24 set is now on my list. Love General pencils, they work so well at such a great price point, and I don't have to freak out if one of them gets "borrowed"! I have not really used graphite on its own much, but I'm intrigued by the Faber Castell Pitt Matte set!

I also have all of the Viarco ArtGraf tailor chalk colors, but I haven’t figured out how to use them

How would you compare the regular nontinted technalo pencils against the Farber Castel watersoulable graphite ones?
@CautionArtistatPlay2 ай бұрын
I have more experience with the Faber-Castell water-soluble pencils than I do the technalo, so I tend to reach for those first. But I have never done a side by side comparison, so I can't say definitively, which is the better pencil. They are both good quality.
@TjVoelkerArt11 сағат бұрын
I also bought the Blackwings because of all the hype about them. Meh. I like them ok, but I don't see what all the fuss is about. I also don't care for the weight of it with the eraser. On a side note, have you tried the graphite putty by Artgraf? I also have some XL tinted graphite by Derwent.
@CautionArtistatPlay6 сағат бұрын
Yeah, the Blackwing pencils can be a bit pricy, too. They're good, but there are some awesome alternatives out there at a much better price point. I have not tried the graphite putty yet, but I have had my eye on that! It looks like a messy good time! I need to look into getting some of the Derwent XL blocks in some of my most used colors. They look like they would last forever!
