Kit in Melody's meet reminds me of an outfit i had in the sixties. I had a short blond bob and a pant/skirt suit in those colours. I loved it then and i think it aged well. It's still adorable. Mine had a floral jacket in those colours, a pleated skirt and a pair of slacks in turquoise.

I am crazy about Nanea's high waisted shorts. Sporty chic for the time. The pink/yellow dress is okay, cute on her as you said but just okay. Her long gown is very well shaped, and the thin fabric helps it drape better, I think. Her grass skirt outfit is great. I always think of Molly's cute Halloween costume but that was becase they were both great. The swimsuit is lovely. The school outfit is perfect, and so are the shoes. The fabric pattern of the school outfit os Hawaiian and subdued at the same time.

Hey, that's the beauty of diversity! One person's pass, is another's treasure! For me, it really is the bright crimson red that throws me off. But I totally understand why others are obsessed with it!

I am more fond of Melody's collection than you are, I think, but you are spot on about that floral dress - the cut is great and feels historically accurate, but the fabric is SO weird and cheap feeling. And the neon flowers don't match the salmon colored shoes at all. I wish her headbands were more stretchy or even had velcro underneath because they are very tight. Her meet headband is tight on *her*, so you know it's too tight for curly girlies. Great video.

@@agtakesover yes!! Velcro on headbands are a must. I wonder if they worry about kids getting the doll hair stuck in it? But selfishly, I want it too. It makes putting them on and adjusting the position so much easier.

Love your comments on the outfits! I agree that Melody's outfits leave something to be desired. Nanea also doesn't seem super "historical" to me, but her hula outfit is pretty iconic. I wonder if these dolls appeal more to the kids than adults!

@@juliearankin the hula outfit is definitely iconic!! I think you’re right- the beforever era girlies’ outfits seem to have prioritized bright colors to get attention over historical accuracy. Also, yes, I have! The video is on my channel- I think it’s my second one. I do have a playlist on my channel with all these videos 🥰

RIGHT! I put the play outfit shoes on and I was like GROSS WHAT IS THIS!? 😭 I also had to buy it twice cause the first one has stains on it. I’m gonna start watching these review videos before I start spending money on cheap and unhistorical outfits

That highlighter green dress needs a good amount of melanin in the skin. All the girls from Lea to the darkest brown look amazing in it. Not for pale complexions.
