Yep wipe out before years ago, but on a trail going downhill, light fell unexpectedly and came up on a corner. Ended up breaking a couple fingers thankfully wasn’t worst as did slow down enough before wiping out. Still ride motorcycles and bikes and had a couple minor falls once to avoid another ebike as he lost control, but saw that and just scratched grip and pedal when drop it at a stop pretty much. Usually invest in good tires and especially lights and mounts. Those tire look poorly designed. Usually go with Continental or Kendra tires and they do fine. Winter is when use stubby tires and under inflated them.

@@UncleFjester I'm sorry but I honestly can not remember what I said or what you are talking about.... Are you talking about what I said about the 3rd and 4th wreck...? I thought i posted it and was looking for it but it was not there and so i wrote it again.

I’m glad you weren’t hurt. Do you think a lower aPSI say 15-20 would allow more tire on the ground? Therefore giving us better traction? Either way eventually I will be getting the stubby tires soon. In the meantime I will use zip ties for traction in snow.

I think its a design problem,

Twice, first at high speed on concrete not a bad landing. The front wheel started wobbling. Second on dirt to avoid someone coming at me around a curve on the wrong side. Went down hard as soon as I hit the brakes. Though I broke my left hand and actually dented a helmet . Helmet saved my life.

Your 2nd was my 4th or 5th. Gravel trail and 2 baby walkers double up, hit my brakes & front slid out

What happened on that first crash? Locked up the rear brake, looks like? On the 2nd one, can you really blame the tires, when you went down because you hit the curb? On the 3rd and 4th ones, you were off road, and these are clearly road tires. Your bad.
@UncleFjester Жыл бұрын
1st crash wasn't rear brakes as I only use about 20% of the rear. 80% of your braking should come from the front. Go to MotoGP Racing school and you'll learn too. 2nd I slid into the curb, these tires are crap, but feel free to ride them all you want. 3&4 Your correct. The geometry on the POS Innova are too round at the crown, You basically are on a 2" wide tire, look at your wear pattern, wipe them clean and go for a ride and you'll see what I'm referring to. Probably fine if you steer thru turns, but real riders lean to turn.

I hear you. I’m a former motorcyclist and I know about crap tires. I know about the front brake doing most of the work. The fact that those knobbies hold better than the slicks on pavement (especially DRY) shows that you’re right. You have a smaller contact patch with the knobbies but they hold better. I think the Innovas are just made from cheap, hard rubber as a cost-cutting measure. The only question is whether they were over-inflated. I presume not, as you seem to know what you’re doing there. I would like street tread tires for mine (when I get it) but not shitty ones. I had them on a CBR500R and almost crashed once. I was so happy when they finally wore out, and I felt like I could put the new ones on without being wasteful. That’s probably why you kept them so long; wanted to use them up.
