Does this train go from Prague to Budapest or is it only one way/ different sleep train exists?
@NerdX1512 жыл бұрын
Does the train still spend the entire night in Breclav or does it take a detour to use up the hours? I remember when I used this train in 2015, there were two sleepers to Prague, one arriving at 04:00 and one arriving around 08:00. The 8 AM sleeping car was parked in Breclav most of the night and was attached to an InterCity service in the morning.

I am a 58 year old man from USA and thinking of taking a solo journey to Lisbon, Prague and Budapest in 2024. I can not find a train from Lisbon to Prague though. I may have to fly to Prague and then train to Budapest? How is the language barrier? Do people speak english? Thanks!
@Pidalin11 ай бұрын
Train from Lisbon to Prague? It's more than 2000 km, that would take you like week to get there by train. 😀 Trains mostly go only to surrounding countries, so if you want to cross whole Europe by train, it's pretty complicated, you need to check all train companies and plan it carefully and you are risking that you miss some train and you are screwed, but if you like such punk traveling, then you can try. 🙂

@@mikeb2611 Few years ago, I was reading about some plan to unify european train ticket systems and have one ticket from A to B where you don't have to care about who operates that and what country is that, but here in Europe, we can't make a deal even about much simplier things, I think this is total utopia, maybe in year 2080. 😀

No catering on board? No bar, no snack bar? The problem with these overnight rooms is that unless you have a place to 'hang out' in - a bar or even a restaurant is that I would feel very claustrophobic with nowhere to 'go'. What's the deal on that score?

The former overnight train from Adelaide to Melbourne (and vice versa) called the Overland used to have sleeper cars and seats. It also had savery nice snack bar/bar on board.
