I have complex partial seizures as well. They started when I was an older teen. I'm 60 now. Thank you so much for your wonderful channel. :)

This is a great video! It's weirdly nice to know that there are other people who have experienced the same things as I have. Even though I wouldn't wish it on anyone.... Funnily enough it was TV that really helped me because it took my mind off any stress going on. As soon as my mind switched off I would begin to feel the sense of fear and disorientation. Big love for this video! X

Thought my biggest trigger was stress and lack of sleep, thought I was working too much. Turns out it was more the coffee I was drinking to help myself stay awake lol. Nice epilepsy videos :)

Couple things. I have complex partial seizures where I will stare off to never never land, I have simple seizures which i would just stay in my abnormal focal area of brain where I will be experience some type of aura which would not progress to general tonic clonic seizures and then I would experience general tonic clonic clonic and secondary generalized tonic clonic seizures, I don't have them all the time I usually have focal seizures. However it has changed my life for the better to say. I eat healthier I live better, traveling is much cheaper and I do get much more exercise than I did before. My neurologists and seurgeon tell me," you can drive know it's been 2 years." I say, "heck no to expensive I rather keep money in bank then give it to insurance company, mechanics, gas station and ect... Plus what if shit happens behind wheel and someone else is envolved and dies. I walk away unhurt, I would never be able to live with that."

I'm glad you mentioned caffeine, my neurologist didn't seem open to the idea that it was a big contributor to mine. My seizures developed out of nowhere at 37 and I had this innate feeling that it was a large part of the puzzle. Going to try removing it!

Thank you so much for this! I was diagnosed with grand mal seizures and I have a sist in my skull that I might need surgery for. But this was so helpful to my current life style, but your right certain things didn't help as much for grand mals like i really can't do anything without a partner.

The beginning of my seizure is so hard to describe, other than a fear and feeling lost. I find myself having to do a risk assessment with everything I do. I would be too scared to ride a bike on a main rd. I can not even cross a road, read or write somedays

Hey Rachael my name is Jansun. It’s unfortunate the struggle you have to live with and I hope the best for you. I completely understand what you mean and agree it’s a uniquely indescribable abstract feeling. So unfamiliar that its nearly impossible to compare it anything else in life. Ik how scary and life altering it is. But we mustn’t let it take control and have us living in constant fear, ruining the things we enjoy doing like riding bikes..I have similar fears my friend..but trusting in Jesus and remembering that he is ALWAYS with us, even until the very end, gives me courage and strength to live life to the fullest and try to be the best person I can. After all, this is just our temporary earthly body until we are reunited with Jesus, then we will put on our new eternal bodies made for us by God himself. The love he has for you is unmeasurable. So rejoice, knowing that the living God has a planned purpose set just for you. Being together for eternity, a life without any evil, tears, pain, or suffering. That sure is a reassuring feeling isn’t it. Something good to look forward to and also serve as a reminder that we will be healed of our disabilities. God bless you and your family

Oh no, Do not ride a bike, you can lose control and get injured badly if you fall off. If driving a car, you can still slow down and pull over on a safe side of the road. Keeping a cold water bottle with you is very important. When you face difficulties of reading, writing or anything else, you need to drink an iced drink. Frappe or a smoothie which will cool your brain immediately and relax your body. Good luck

Hi Annie, Thanks for sharing. I just had an event on my bicycle a month ago that I don't remember. Woke up in the emergency room. The last thing I remember, was my mind being sort of a meditative/joyful state while pedaling along at a comfortably fast pace (75%). Maybe that combination triggered something, like when you were saying that your were getting into your favorite music during a run and then bam. Maybe our consciousness is going a little beyond our body. Just a thought. A little paranoid about how I am feeling at all times, just in case it happens again. I was told that I couldn't drive for 6 months. Best wishes for your marathon. BTW this is my first comment on KZbin!

Oh no!! What happened? I always wondered what my body might do if I happened to have one while riding a bike. Because I can still walk but I look like a sleep walker. But I don’t know if while I’m having one, maybe subconsciously my brain would know not to do something. I don’t know.

If any of you are cycling or riding a bike, please avoid. This can as one of you wrote can cause serious injuries. If you drive a car, you can still drive slowly and pull over to the side for safety. Another advice, keep a cold water bottle with you all the time incase you feel any discomfort of a headache or feel a partial seizure is coming or after having a seizure

This is great. I was diagnosed with complex partial siezure at 24. I'm also deafblind with a stammer. I was born at 24 weeks, and on an MRI scan they found a white mass on my brain. I love working out, and I limit myself to 2 cups of tea or coffee a day, the rest is herbal tea, water or milk or a smoothy. I've been having hard trouble with really bad headaches of late, and flashing lights 10-15 minutes after I wake up of a morning. I get my pre-warners, deschavu, strange burning smell, then flashing lights, and this constant headache. Its being investigated. What could be causing this? Its getting me very down. I have a 6 year old daughter who is the light of my life, my hero, and my monkey lol. Well done once again xxx.

You should ask your neurologist for a medicine called lamotrigine or Lamictal which is more effective for epilepsy. It is important to get proper sleep. Eat a full day meals. You should always drink cold water immediately after having a seizure. If you still feel weak, then you should drink a frappe or something ice blended as this will further cool the brain and body. You should watch a comedy program to reduce your stress. Always keep a cold water bottle with you wherever you go because this is the first liquid which will relieve your body pain. If you are driving your car and suddenly feel a seizure is about to take place, park your vehicle on the side of the road and stay as calm as you can and drink cold water immediately. Drive only after you are well. You should avoid: Smoking or anything that affects the brain and body Amusement park rides as this can worsen seizures. Being around Chemical factories. Good luck and I hope you stay well.

I would like to mention some things to all of the readers of epilepsy, things to do to avoid getting any sort of seizures and things you can do after experiencing a seizure. Avoid: 1) all amusement park rides 2) smoking or anything that affects the brain after consuming 3) being around smokers 4) ignoring a partial seizure 5) talking to a doctor 6) riding a bike or cycling 7) avoiding medication 8) FEELING GUILTY OF BEING AN EPILEPSY PERSON 9) over working. If you begin feeling tired or start having a severe headache, take a break and now is a time to drink a cold glass of water, smoothie or a frappe to cool your brain and body. Amusement park rides might be joyful but later in the day you can get a partial seizure or during your sleep, you can scratch yourself on or hurt yourself in your sleep or have a worse seizure. Bike rides and cycling is fun but it can lead to a serious injury if you have a partial seizure as you ride. In a car ride, you can drive slower and pull over to the side for safety You should: 1) see a doctor who understands your epilepsy condition 2) drink cold water immediately after you have a partial seizure 3) drink a smoothie or frappe 4) if you experience a seizure during your sleep, get in a sitting position and drink cold water and sleep only after your body is fully relaxed 5) watch a comedy program which will relax your body 6) sometimes it's really important to have someone by you after experiencing a seizure 7) if driving a car, be calm and drive slower. If needed park your car on a safe spot so you can relax and drink some cold water 8) always keep a cold water bottle with you if you are out of your house for a walk, going for a drive, hanging out with friends and just enjoying the weather 9) don't worry, there always will be someone who understands the epilepsy 10) have a hobby, play an instrument or do any art and be more around people who you can laugh with 11) It's always nice to be around the blessed nature and enjoy a cup of coffee 12) keep plants in your house indoor or outdoor 13) keep a pet which will keep you happy. Birds, cats or fish 14) take your medicine as prescribed by your doctor 15) make sure if you take 2 doses to take them exactly after 12 hours apart. Taking a dosage half an hour late or an hour late will not give you a headache the same day but will surely give you a severe partial seizure later on 16) stop your tasks if you start feeling you will have a severe headache or a partial seizure. Ask a family member to help you if you cannot complete anything or even go out for shopping. 17) eat fish and greenery vegetables Good luck all of you and I hope you stay well and happy

Head injuries is mostly the causes of a full seizure, partial seizure or any other seizure you will be having. An advice, if you have any seizure, make sure to read a prayer in your mind and drink cold water immediately. If you feel weak afterwards, drink a smoothie or a frappe as this will cool your brain and body.

Correction, Partial seizures should be taken seriously as they are no better than any other seizure. A person facing a partial seizure needs to pull over to a safe road and immediately drink cold water before continuing the journey. Bike rides aren't safe. In a car ride, it is still possible to drive slower and come to a stop on a safe side of the road if needed Thanks and I hope you stay well and happy
