In fact, I looked back on our relationship as a miserable experience for me. I realized I only wanted to get back together with him because of how much I had invested in him.

I feel like my ex told me something even worse. She told me to go out and date other girls because she cannot give me what I want out of a relationship. That to me sounds more permanent. I took her advice, and I'm now dating a very cool and cute girl, but it's been an adjustment. I still miss things about the ex, but definitely don't stress about it the way I did say 3-4 months ago. I am in the same boat but I though about it and while I was sad and couldn’t eat she was out partying so fuck her “don’t waste your time on someone who only wants you around when it fits them” It’s not healthy for you trust me because you want to be the best person you can and who knows you may find the right person along your journey. It’s not easy because I was in love with her and we was together for 5 years. Feels like I wasted my time as she didn’t feel the same. She only calls me when she needs something and the other days she is free she don’t even text me, it’s all starting to make sense to me that she is most likely just using me. Word of advice: never mix meet ups with your ex with strong drinks. That’s what I did Friday night that prompted him to say “never.” I asked all those questions on my mind and pushed him hard. My ex broke up with me for the second time almost a month ago. So yes, it's possible to get an ex back.....keeping them is another matter. Last week I drove to his house and asked for my things back. He was cold and rather mean, told me "the right man is out there for me," and that there is no more hope for us. I believe him. There is so much pain involved with this relationship. I see my part in its demise, but it isn't all my fault, even though he blamed me. I love him. So much. But I'm also strong, and this breakup is somehow easier....maybe because I'm used to the pain. The crazy thing is, I would take him back again in a heartbeat. I'm pretty sure he's already in a rebound relationship. Once that falls apart I'm sure he'll be crawling back. At that point I hope I am healed enough to say no and stand up for myself and my value as a person!

No, not yet. He started a new facebook profile, and even though I'm not on social media, he knows my roommate will see his updates. I may be looking into things, but he has breadcrumbed before, and his new photos only make sense to me. That is what my gut is saying, so I'm going with it. He is being very stubborn, but I think he may be starting to crack. I've been in radio silence for 2 months (we broke up 3 months ago,) and it's even harder doing it again. She was fed up of broken promises and in the end walked away and found herself a new guy immediately. She said never as well. Well, she said this over and over.. Today marks the 1 year since breakup, and 5 months since no contact started. She just doesn't give a fuck in a loving way, but just a friendly way. I broke no contact yesterday just to play casually lol, without asking nothing about real life... but I just don't get it. I'm still in love with her, but I just can't get over her.. I was one of those exes that didn’t come back after a 5/6 year relationship. Never looked back once because I was so fed up with the behavior and just like this guy, I thought my ex would never change. My ex moved on after 8 months. Coach, your words still echo in my mind every time my most recent ex comes near me. I call it his “every two month” visit: January, March, May, July. I had to turn around while working with him and laugh because he is so predictable. Guess his rebound relationship isn’t going well? jestinlu mine says maybe to trying again. He knows exactly how I feel. He used my love for his ego. I see him and talk randomly to him...I was lead on and a backup plan. I think he knows I've changed. I am no longer his muse. Just let them sit on that. Stay NC. It may take awhile. I will not interrupt his new relationship. If that makes him happy...I want him to be...Loving someone means exactly that. If they are happy, it's what I want, with or without me. I have learned to practice empathy. It's hard, I want to be that one. If I'm not...I don't want him to be unhappy with me.

Cynthia, you're right. Loving someone means you have to make them feel free to go to anywhere they want to be. That is really hardest part in a breakup. All we can do is to better ourselves, and do NC to heal ourselves from this pain. I don't care who she's with as long as she's happy, and i'll do my part to better my chances.

Something similar happened to me... But it was a long distance relationship. He recently broke up with me cause I was pleading, begging and being pushy to him. I was dealing with insecure feelings and jealousy. I should go with the psichologist long time ago. He is a good man. We don't know what we have till we lose it. Need advice! ...at the time of the breakup she said, “maybe in the future, and “I’m not closed off to the idea” and that she still loved and cared about me. Fast forward 5 months later.. we’ve only gone 17 days (at most) without speaking or seeing one another. She always breaks no contact. My ex told me several times in a calm tone and or conversation that she doesn’t foresee a future with me, she is falling in love with herself and that our time has come to an end. There was a lot of emotional abuse on both sides and there was anxiety insecurity and a trauma bond that we created in the relationship. I still very much love her and did that foolish thing right after we broke up where I pleaded for us to get into therapy and try to reconcile over time. She wasn’t interested. I’m trying to accept this but it’s hard especially knowing that she is going out and possibly meeting women. She’s cold as ice to me. I have very little hope for reconciliation. 😢

I can totally relate to her. I see myself in her. My ex gf and I are both lesbian, we've been together for almost 3 years. She broke up with me because of my behavior that's exactly the same as the sender's. I grew up in a family that is not soft spoken where nagging became a norm. And she grew up having trauma with that behavior because of her father. And she even compared me that I am becoming like her father. She told me when she broke up with me that she still loves me and wants to fix our relationship once she's healed. So what I did was respect her decision and went no contact for a week, but everyday I became more anxious that's why I broke no contact 3 times. I called her awhile ago crying and begging, but she told me that she doesn't love me anymore and she is happy without me in her life. She told me that it's too late because she told me many times already to change but I am not changing. It's really painful hearing that she doesn't want to be with me anymore. I don't know know what to do now. I am so attached with her, and I could not even see myself being with someone else. 😭😭😭

Work on your self esteem. Buy new cloths, workout a little, do some changes on your looks (that makes you feel good). If you improve your self esteem, you will improve your confidence and your self value. Confidence, self esteem and self value are the keys to change the anxious behavior.
