Love your content. I certainly needed to watch your video as I am graduating in May from the BSN program, thank God, and I also like you have been told to work at Med surge first before starting psych, so I was very uncertain about what to do. Now I heard your experience, and the fact that I don't have to feel that I am missing out on something makes me feel more confident to start at the Mental Health facility as a new grad. Thank you very much for your content and wise suggestions; I sure will be taking them into account.

I was wondering if you knew any information about Psych Travel Nursing. I want to travel nurse in the future, but there’s not a lot of information out there about psych. Thanks you!

Great video! I was a mental health worker for 6 years all over southern California. Once i became a nurse I went straight into the cath lab, i don't think i could go back to psych. It was very psychologically draining. Constantly on edge on the high acuity units got old Haha! I would be up for chemical dependency detox though. Can you be a medical detox NP? Like suboxone, COWS, CIWA protocols?

How often do you work with mental health therapists for an integrated approach? As a therapist, this is a treatment approach I admire.

Thank you for the vid! Was it easier to get the ED job since you had two years of Psych RN experience? Would it be possible to work as an ED RN during PMHNP school if I have 1 year of Psych RN experience? The ED jobs around here work 12's but psych is only 8's :(
