Story time going to MEPS for my PICAT Verification with What to Expect with Tips. The Military Entrance Process (MEPS) is a place where all military applicants go to complete their processing. I had to do my PICAT verification, which is an unsupervised ASVAB. You have to go MEPS to verify your answers. I will tell you about my personal experience going to MEPS and how to prepare for the PICAT verification and what to avoid.

Went to MEPS in the beginning of March, I’m a Poolee For the Marines. It was a pain in my ass the whole time. But out of 9 people trying to get into the marines that day, I was the ONLY Person to make it. I hated every second of the 13 hours I was there. I got a 69 in my PICAT and a 71 on my Verification. I got my MOS I wanted (not confirmed) but goddamn, the physical was the WORST. And the MEPS Liaison at the Hotel was kinda a dick tho.

I went to the MEPs for my PICAT verification for some reason, they make me take the Full Asvab and I failed. I thought I was gonna take meps which is the 30-question only

Sorry to hear that. You always have to go to MEPS for verification but on rare percentage when taking the verification you'll get randomly selected to do a full asvab or if you didnt answer verification questions in the EXACT manner when you took the PICAT and they will put you in a full ASVAB. UNFORTUNATELY.

So after you take the PiCAT, you let the recruiter know that you finished and if you scored good they do a verification with MEPS. Bring you to MEPS and I assume you take another test? If so, do you have to like explain how you got your answer or pick the same answer you picked from the PiCAT?

Whether you do bad or good Bc if you enlisted as long as you get the minimum score to enlist and you don’t say anything they’ll probably still let you do verification. Make sure to speak up. Ultimately, it depends on what YOU feel is a good score and what MOS you are trying to get. If you say something more than likely the recruiter would advise other options. It’s up to you to decide what’s right for YOUR situation not there’s The only other test you may take assuming you don’t fail verification would be the personality test. The last part, You don’t have to explain your answers. Just re picked the SAME answer you did PICAT even if it was the wrong answer.

You will more than likely go into FULL ASVAB immediately after. if you fail verification. Also, the PICAT whether you do it from the office or home is it legit not practice. Make sure you take it seriously try remember EXACTLY what you put even if the answer was wrong and you realize the correct answer during verification. Hope that helps

I was in two branches (Navy first and Army second, with a 30 second break in service) and retired after 21 years active. I have never dealt with officers that sounded “back on the block”. I don’t get this and it worries. “Man” in nearly every sentence will be ‘very’ hard to articulate with any lower enlisted or NCO’s. Oh well. 🙈🙉🙊

Thank you for your service ! It is a first time for everything. The "block" talk helped lead 3 successful businesses. The articulation might be "very" hard, so I let the work speak for itself :) but ill work on the fillers though

@@SupremeSoldier the Army considered my Naval prior service as my first enlistment. Meaning that ‘if’ I had chosen a horrible MOS, I would have been stuck. Fortunately as in the Navy, my ASVAB scores were outstanding. At MEPS Navy, was told I had my choice of Ratings and they kept pushing Nuclear field…my being a staunch, glass is half empty kinda guy, their reply to failure was six years of “the needs of the Navy”! Nope, went Subs…found out at Groton that I was claustrophobic…back to SD for surface sonar and graduated 2nd in class. In the Army I had to take the ASVAB again…scored even better (better have after 70 + weeks of electronics school in the Navy…this time I went for one of the hardest schools/MOS’s, 52E and graduated top of the class (distinguished grad) and each leadership academy after, was distinguished grad. Loved the hell out of the military and had to choose between “the trail” or recruiting. “Trail” it was. Dealt with knuckleheads in a daily basis. Point of all of this is: along the career path, you learn you can ‘never’ be back on the block, so testing is mega important and choosing the right Rating/MOS is paramount! Even if a person cheated to get in, it would become ‘very’ apparent within the first week and psych evals will reveal even more. Saw many guys pulled out of classes for failing psych evals or lying on the SF-86. Best of luck to anyone that happens to read this rambling flow of conscience. Go NAVY! 🤘🤘🤘

Dam I was told that it will be a bunch of the same questions put together to see if you could do them all over again.. so there’s 30 questions you have to get 15 right? I exceeded in science and reading and some arithmetic reasoning what should I expect a mix of these 3 subjects (66)(65)(54)

If you get the opportunity to go back to MEPS, ask for the handbook about the MEPS guidelines. I believe its on one of the LAST pages. I read it for sure, it mentioned about the verification. Its two sentences long. I have another video about MEPS posting soon, the recruiter was picking up 3 other recruits but 2 of them FAILED verification went str8 to ASVAB and said it was EXACTLY 3 Questions, same as mines from the PICAT.

I took the picat at my recruiter office the 6th of sept then I took the picat verification test this past Monday, damn near had the same questions I finished the 30 questions then went into the 175 personally test was out in 45min now Monday I go do my physical this Monday coming up

Good question. It’s not about exceeding. It’s about verifying. For example. If you put be B on a answer. You go do your verification , you realize it was “WRONG” and you put A. You failed verification. If you see a question you did in the PICAT You need to put EXACTLY what you answered when you took the PICAT regardless if it’s right or wrong

My recruiter was like you’re gonna get exact same questions, I knew it was cap 🥲 so should I score like more than 26 on verification. Lower score I had only in paragraph comp and elictronics. And my general science was straight up chemistry 🥲

@@miyamiya1134 naw you won’t get the 100% the exact questions they told me the same BUT you should try to remember what you put though but at least 3-5 would pop and YOU HAVE TO ANSWER those as you did in the on the PICAT but if you have a decent understanding you be fine
