@paulsz6194 the world dynamics change with every generation, but the principles remain the same. His grandparents lived when populations were smaller, people were not threatened by a large multicultural population and races were more inclusive, manners were a priority taught to the young and Social Media wasn't even thought about, because communication was a way of life as was physical activities. NOW we have a over populated world, with more wars than ever, Kids becoming lazy and foul - mouthed, even committing crime, that were once only committed by adults, But racism is still strong, and even encouraged by a white president. Do you think that these practices could change for the better if white people made changes about their laws and legislation and stopped hating on people outside of their race, do you think they will get over their vanity, to see others and do you think they will overcome their fears of knowing that they are no longer a large dominant force now, Hhmm, an you hear the cracks appearing for them. Through their stubbornness, to change, they are becoming a classic case of "what goes around, comes around". My comments are in the time frame of the 1900's to the present.

I had to stop the video when the 2 beautiful young black ladies (5:47 / 46/48) said there are a lot of black people in Australia. REALLY?! WOW! I stumbled on your video- just because of the Title. I have now subscribed and look forward to watching more content. Now back to your video. Thank you so much for posting this. WOW! You learn something new every day! I won't lie, I'm shocked. I did not know Australia had any blacks - let alone 'many'. We have seen one or two mixed raced people on their Soaps, and one black female - but that was it. The one black British lady whom we all know about was a TV Star, with her own Show and she always spoke highly of her time in Australia. To be honest, I just though it was because she was an already much loved Star here in the UK. WOW! Plus we saw how well Australians treated Oprah years ago when she filmed her Show there - but Blacks actually living there. Again I thought is it because they are Stars, because we tend to associate Australia with m* sogyny and 'R' word. Yet their celebrities who are known world wide seem very nice (bar one who has said some not so nice things and was rightly temporarily c* n celled in Hollywood). I cannot wait to see the rest of this video. When I think of Australia I think of blondes, beaches - so just seeing all these built up areas is already a surprise. Now I'm off to watch the rest of the video. Thanks again.

Sister that’s because Australia is still racist. They haven’t changed their beauty standards to include dark skinned women so we dark Africans do not get opportunities for roles that we are qualified to fulfill due to our pigmentation and that is also why you rarely see even the darker indigenous people on screen. The only Africans or Indigenous people they seem to give TV roles to are the “acceptable” Africans or Aboriginals by white standards which are the mixed ones or light skinned. Although racism is not as bad as it was when I was in primary school 20 years ago anymore, it is still alive and kicking as the 2 girls have stated. I was physically attacked by a racist family on the train just 6 years ago in a semi packed carriage and not a soul spoke up or defended me, most people laughed and the following year a middle aged white man spat on me and yelled to go back to my country in broad daylight in front of the library, I developed PTSD. Thank god it is not so bad anymore but colourism is still a thing for the media. Africans have been in Australia for up to 50 years or more and the first Africans here were the South Africans of which have fought in WWII I was taught at school and have met descendants of some who are proud of their black South African heritage and then the Sudanese. People just laid low and stuck in their ethnic communities back then to avoid getting racially targeted.

Gosh you still in Melbourne you do realise you have not really seen the outback yet. What you saw is just the tip get on a bus go out west or up to Northern Territory that is the outback in the centre not in Melbourne its an overcrowded city. Darwin in the Territory has some great food up there Plus great fishing. Get out and go to the Victorian coast Lakes Entrance or out west to the Murray River and Echuca or Moama city folk boring hehe....

Good one mate, I hope you liked Melbourne we are a chilled city, we are friendly and we do not discriminate, I am not sure about the commentary by the African girls. Of course, the Police is going to see them sometimes as a possible threat to common sense, in the suburbs we do have a small group of young Sudanese Australians who seem to be misdirected, uneducated and self-entitled and include young , quite young Sudanese Australian girls, robbing cars, assaulting people etc, but Melbourne is one of the friendliest cities in Australia. But like in every city we do have some bad apples and like in every city in the World we do have some new Australians who came here but complain and whinge about us. Anyhow, hope your trip gave you a taste for what Melbourne has to offer and as you said, you only scratched the surface, keep up the good work

There is also a pretty active sudanese criminal element in Melbourne, but for what it's worth as a job searcher who dresses like a white unemployed guy, I also get seen as someone to watch. I have also had workers at stores follow or watch me when I am in some of the stores.

@@sarausageyes, and they also carry the attitude that the whole country is racist . Perhaps if they did get involved in drill-rap music, trying to behave like they are " straight outta Compton" , and came here to make the most out of the opportunity that Australia has given them, people would treat them differently. I’m not saying ALL of them are like that, there are some that have contributed to their new country and made a success of their lives, but it’s the others that ruin it for everyone else…

The same thing happened to me in Rio, Brazil where I made a female Irish friend randomly which made my day. That being said, English/British people are not like that, or are not friendly for the most part (that means most of them). I am from the UK, and I do know. I tried to talk to English/British girls in Rio one time and they blew me off. I vow to myself never to talk to English/British girls when I am abroad again (as it happened several times before I learnt my lesson).

Melbourne is the multicultural capital of Australia. I would say racism comes from certain individuals and not a group of people as a whole. You could visit the "smaller country towns" and ask that question, and that would be a different answer. I myself haven't experienced anything too serious as a non white male, but i do feel some stigma from certain individuals time to time. The best thing to do is be the bigger person and focus your energy on yourself and bring positive vibes ✌🏾 ✊️

If you walk the streets of Sydney or Melbourne back in the 1970s, you would get stares everywhere you go, It was an extremely monocultural Anglo Celtic, proud British stock Society, European immigrants were termed the "new Australians". Of course that decade saw the slow official Disappearance of the "White Australia Policy" mostly aimed at dark-skinned and Asian immigrants which was still enforce up to the early 70s. Today outside of the country towns most of the major cities across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia are multi-ethnic multi-racial. The current generation in my opinion have lost that very broad Aussie accent, maybe caused by global trends, immigration and of course American cultural influencers through social media networks, music etcetera..... Being a relatively young nation we are still navigating and determining who we are.
