I'm from London and I have been to California before and i agree that it's easier to make real, lasting friendships in the UK, British people are people are more down to earth and less concerned about status, looks, popularity, and generally hate anything else that's fake/ temporary

London weather is not the one. We don’t have a summer here. If we’re lucky we’ll get two weeks and a little of consistent or warm weather but other than that it’s gloomy. Hence why it’s rare to find air con because we don’t necessarily need it. In terms of food, I went to New York not too long ago so I know that North America serve big quantities and they have a lot of fast food and just restaurants in general. In London I guess we don’t have a lot of options but for seasoned, good, affordable food (for next time) I’d suggest Nando’s for chicken, rice and chips -other stuff too of course and for pasta/pizza Vapianos. Weatherspoons is a pub which not all feel the cleanest or the best place to just sit and eat but the food is sooo good and reasonably priced. And off the top of my head I can’t think of many. There’s Wagamama - people have a love and hate relationship with that and yeah. Other places that are not as affordable are places like Gaucho’s, Nobu, Haaksan etc . In London people rarely use Uber we use Bolt, ViaVan, Kapten, Ola -new digital taxi like apps which are often cheaper and an alternative to uber. And it just depends on who you get, some are really nice and talkative others not so much. And the staring thing😂. People in London don’t care. They don’t give no fucks about anything. Who you are, what you’re wearing like everyone is just in their own world which I love and people are not scared to be bold I guess😂. And we do have seasoning😂 but in central London you guys don’t really have the major supermarkets. Next time you come don’t just stay centrally or if you have the time and energy explore London a little bit. Go Stratford, Brixton other more cultural places. You’ll find things like Jamaican shops to eat at which are really good and all of that. But I’m glad you enjoyed the aspects you did.

I hate the food in London as well. My cousin lives there and I go for 2 weeks at time and lost 8lbs every time I go! I can’t even lose that in 2 months now😩. I will have to go after the holidays so I can lose that holiday weight

You were in the wrong location for food, London is an incredible city for ethnic food and food shopping we have large Indian, Carribean and African communities with super markets selling fresh produce especially scotch bonnets etc...

Sorry the uber driver wasn't rude talking on a speaker phone is rude anywhere unless you're alone. She could of still had the conversation without putting the person on speaker. I went to the UK and the Uber drivers were friendly and very helpful one even helped me bring my bags into my hotel. I live in NY they would have said something to you right off the bat about that and it wouldn't have been as nice.
