First of all it was a pleasure meeting in person.Motion actuators are a must but still the prices are to high,I think with time they would be more affordable and it would me fun to have

You are welcome! Great to catch up with my followers on Expo :) - Lets see how they develop. Again, my biggest concern is that we are facing the latency issues at all the time sadly :(

@franzbeaulieu2252 go Sigma as seen in video (DK2 in video) I have the DK6 and it's unreal, combined with the BT1 qubic belt tensioner and VR, you will be there like the real thing on track

The Sigma actuators felt really smooth and powerful. Like probably only used 20 to 30 % of their potential power - so perfect for displaying subtle movements and no clipping.

Motion increases immersion, but does it make you faster? Which component of this rig would you buy first Michi?
@MichiHoyer
@MichiHoyer Ай бұрын
I think the first thing I would get is the active pedals of SimuCube. and next, I would get the seat and the tilting position. Personally, as much as the rig has had really really low latency on the actuators which is great, I think from an "Esport" perspective, it would drag me off.

I really like it..but i notice something that concerns me. I have a rseat c1 cockpit with the intergrated mount for my ultrawide 49" monitor. With my dd2 the monitor shakes and has developed a creaking noise. Especially on a crash or curb hit. I have the wheel base set at about a 12-14 nm peak. This motion rig seems to bounce the monitors around quite a bit, which concerns me about over stressing the monitor's chassis and/or making the monitors creaky...noisy. If i bought this i would definitely buy a standalone monitor stand.
@Lil-Lou
@Lil-Lou Ай бұрын
The monitors and PC were moving because the trailer doesnt have a solid floor, so all the vibration are translated through the floor. In a solid floor, nothing moves.
@MichiHoyer
@MichiHoyer 22 күн бұрын
The screens were on a standalone TV Screen already, but as mentioned byb Lil-Lou the TV stand was shaking still because of the flexible floors.

i see online lot of ppl actually investing in motion rigs (or extending their non motion to motion rigs) but only few of them is kot „over-equing“ the motors / movement. Of course i depends what you drive but basically if this motion system would act the way how springs are acting while driving adding the side to side movement a bit and that based on telemetry from the sim you drive, that would be great for sure.
@MichiHoyer
@MichiHoyer Ай бұрын
I think the biggest issue is going to be a latency issue after all. Like every move ment needs an input of somesort and it needs processing and that will inevitably take time.
@reviewforthetube6485
@reviewforthetube6485 Ай бұрын
Its good for sure lol. But it costs to much for what it is even compared to other motion rigs. You can build one at 15k as good. Imo this motion rig is way to bare and minimal to be 30k.
@MichiHoyer

Think one needs to consider the strong actuators, with 250kg per foot, we are far away from clipping. I have to admit that I have not done research on other manufacturors

I couldn't hope to have something like that. I have enough space to use a gamepad to play racing games and I'm a massive casual and slow as balls anyway so I'm definitely not the target consumer for something like this lol. That said I'd love to give it a go if I ever got a chance but I don't have that kind of money or space.

Well you can at least enjoy it on a simracing expo at least. That might give you a hint if you need to make up space for future investments haha

I'd love a motion rig! But first I need to spare to upgrade my thrustmaster t150😂 I don't think I would want the screens to vibrate alswell, the coolermaster has it and it kinda annoys me...

All one would need to do is putting the TV stand further away from the actuators, or - unlike Cooler Master had it, on a podium.

Yeah they've set this up so wrong. I think it's the stand that the whole thing is positioned on
@MichiHoyer
@MichiHoyer 27 күн бұрын
They have put the rig onto a podium which didnt help for sure. Not sure how the floor of the stand would have influenced the movement of the screens, but having the actuators directly besides the screen stand was a mistake by design sadly

Personally, I would suggest mounting the screen on the motion plattform too, just make sure it doesnt flex around.
@johnangel5134
@johnangel5134 Ай бұрын
The screens don't appear to be attached to the rig so why on earth are they bouncing about like that? Keep that up and you'll damage them. Maybe the floor the rig is sitting on is flimsy. The gear shift settings seem way too high as he is being kicked in the ass with every shift, this should be turned down
@Lil-Lou
@Lil-Lou Ай бұрын
It's just because the trailer has a thin floor, you could feel the motion from the other side of the trailer. On hard floor the screens and PC dont move.
@MichiHoyer
@MichiHoyer 22 күн бұрын
Also needs to be noted that the rig was sitting on another wooden podium and the TV Stand feet were right besides the front actuators. So regarding the flex & the moving surely suboptimal but thats how it is on trade fairs tbh. For the general showcasing it was fine!

Love to buy one but can’t really afford one right now plus I am concerned about the noise I live in small apartment so for now I’ll still use and old butt kicker gamer plus I think but I have to keep that low and can’t use it at night cause I have loved ones sleeping. Great video as usual keep up the good work 🏁🏎️

Actually I have been asked for joining a company that produces such actuators for content and review. And I declined exactly of that issue. Neihgboors in the mutli family house already complained on my direct drive wheel vibrations and that they can hear it. Had to put the rig on a tripple layer of washing machine dampening mats...
