$15 a month is nothing. I’ve done many hobbies through the years, golf, fishing, moto track days, boating, RC racing, slot cars and more. Plus we spend thousands on a rig, wheel base, pedals etc.. Online racing is cheap. Iracing is successful with a crap netcode, avg everything else but servers world wide. I’ll spend the money with LMU to support sim racing. I’m a league racer, I got my silver because and just did 10 races in the back to be safe. So leagues coming is what I’m looking forward to, not gt3.
@MichiHoyer7 сағат бұрын
Thats great to hear you are looking forwards to the leagues. Hopefully they also flush in. Would be good for the community too. I agree with the Hobby expenses. Played Handball myself, at leas 1 pair of shoes per year, 1 can of wood liquid for sticky gluey hands, and the 500km of travels every season for all the "away-games"... certainly more expensive than 150€/yr
@rickrolled79306 сағат бұрын
"We spend" is more like a select few spend. I managed to go with just over 1k for a full rig chassis, pedals, 34 inch ultrawide monitor and monitor stand. And that's again, for a full rig which i'll probably never change much of. 15$ per month is not really nothing. I understand they need money but this should be a temporary solution until they gain popularity. Iracing is also not that much more popular and outright superior than the cheaper brother acc was at its peak, when it was still being developed and worked on. So while i do understand the curent msg and s397 situation, let's still not encourage this money throwing at racing sims.

@@rickrolled7930these companies that develop sims, are so small. they can't afford to put out continuous content. anyone who understands this, would be willing to support their favorite sims. look at iracing, it has the worst tire model in sim racing and it's still the most popular sim by far. so people are willing to pay for stuff. give the dev teams that actually know how to make something drive good extra resources

I think LMU is the best sim out there at the moment in terms of FFB/physics and tyre model. BUT it is very light on content compared to pretty much any other sim, nobody is going to pay for the game, pay again for the content and then move their subscription from iRacing to a sim with 10% of the content for more money.

A driver ranking based on a cumulative lap times,in a car class compared to our peers. Split 1 or split 7, a guy that can consistently put down lap times with the top drivers should be rated as such. I would have no problem being a silver or gold driver in daily races but a bronze driver in a championship form because of my lap times…I would know exactly which drivers I am competing against
@RacingWithChuck274 сағат бұрын
For people who are league racers or hosted, not official racer in rf2, LMU or iracing. I would be placed in lower tiers but my times and speeds would be higher, higher chance to win . It’s not a problem because it’s not something that happens often. If they (me ) raced more official than it would level out. Iracing went off just qualifying for the Indy 500 years ago which was good and bad. Bad being, they started up front but their long race race craft wasn’t great because they spent all their time in qualifying trim to make the top split
@tristanmartz39484 сағат бұрын
I’m more talking about how the FIA does it, I think a race shorter than 3 hours they take the average of the fastest 10 laps by each driver. Races 3 hours or longer they take 20 laps. Not really just how fast you are on qualifying runs, but over the course of an entire race

I think this game will sadly never gain enough popularity to really benefit from a subscription service. The problem is that people are very invested in to iracing, even if lmu was better in all aspects, no one will switch from iracing. Most only have time to drive one sim game after all. Few hours a week of wheel time, it's just not worth it to split it between multiple titles.. I would love to see lmu gain popularity and make the devs money, they have created a great sim, they deserve it. But i don't think a sub model will save this title. Hope i am wrong. For me, i prefer this over other sim titles at the moment
@chillachriz275 сағат бұрын
If further development is secured by a subscription model, I'm the last person to have a problem with it. They also have to pay their bills, even in the future. No sim is sold so often that you can rest on it for years.

They would happly add more content if they had what to add. You could count the wec races per season on your hand fingers and still have fingers left. This year we also only have 2 classes. There's just not that much content really. Wec drivers usually race in other series as well to not get bored. The idea with lmu is not to be something like iracing. This is a more casual from time to time sim.
