We recently added 2 mg. of Abilify to deal with an ongoing Apathy issue. This is along with Wellbutrin I take for MDD. The Abilify has been nothing short of a miracle for me. I have since joined a gym, and go regularly. I have restarted my hobby of photography. I am getting done all types of projects I had on the back burner for the longest time. So far zero side effects, and, simply, an overall feeling of well being.

How have you been lately? I have been on Wellbutrin and now adding 2mg of Abilify. The Wellbutrin helped get me out of a deep funk i was stuck in, but i still couldn't seem to get over that hill where i finally do the things i want to do, but also feeling like i REALLY don't want to start them at all. My Doctor said he feels good about this addition. Mixing drugs makes me nervous and id like to know what im in for. ...Also, just in general, how's your day going? : )
@dons.9842 Жыл бұрын
@@BriZamora We had increased the Abilify to 5mg. which, for me, was a mistake. I experienced extreme fatigue to the point that we went back to 2 mg. While I am much better with the combination, my apathy issue has returned to the point I have to again force myself to do things I loved. If you keep the dosage of Abilify low, the side effects are minimal, and it should help. Good luck on this journey.

I’m a psych PA and prescribe abilify often. All second generation antipsychotics can cause weight gain but abilfy and Latuda cause the least. Seroquel and zyprexa cause way more. The good thing is you’ve seen improvement on really low dose (max dose of abilfy is 30mg) and it’s helped you. Many people use second gen antipsychotics at low dose to make SSRIs (like zoloft) more effective, and can also help with mood swings, anger, and irritability. Glad you’re seeing benefit from the med combo you’re on!

Thank god your doing better , I’ve been on Zoloft for 9 months now, 150’mg . And have been in therapy consistently for all of the 9’months , sessions every single week . I am happy to report although im dependent on the medicine I am starting to see it’s not only the medication that’s helping me a lone , it’s the therapy, and working at my life every single day , one day at a time , there’s days that I don’t feel on that high , and just blue for no reason , I tell myself , “this will pass” and it does. Yesterday me and my wife were married 22’years, and tomorrow 6/18 is my birthday. And of course Father’s Day on Sunday. I haven’t stopped trainng MMA , lifting weights , just being myself . Hang in there it’s ok to be not ok , life lies somewhere between accepting where we’re at in life and going to where we want to be. That small space to live , although Hard to find is Just “being” ……… good to see you on the airwaves again 🙏

@sarahmitchell5582 жыл бұрын
I have taken 10 mg daily for BPD and have not noticed any side effects other than fatigue. I do have an exercise compulsion (part of ocd and an eating disorder, all things that also negatively impact me of course so weight gain should not be assumed a bad thing). I’m disappointed though that it hasn’t helped with my symptoms. You’re right about having to try something new! I will probably have to just surrender to psychotherapy. DBT has been the most helpful thing for me personally.

Film that video of when you’re really down, if you’re up to it :) It might help people relate to you and your process of seeking / going through treatment (in a way that they wouldn’t be able to connect with viewing videos filmed at your better times). And help nudge them away from any incorrect beliefs they have about medication being “happy pills” that always keep you up.

Yeah, I’m thinking about doing 2 mg. My story is just anxiety/panic. I work in a very high stress environment. It’s nothing I can change at this time. I started taking medication when my wife died years ago. I noticed the medication that I’m on aren’t helping as much things have gotten so bad work wise and financially, I’m just kind of overwhelmed! My doctor prescribed it, but I didn’t take it. He said keep it just in case you need to, so I’m gonna try. Thanks for your feedback and I wish you well too! Take care.!!

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I really liked your honesty and candidness as well. I have a relatable story as to why I am watching your video. Lost my Mom my senior year of pursuing my bachelors degree. Was on Remeron then and immediately decided to up my dosage from 15mg to 30mg due to the grief/ depression. Unfortunately I didn’t realize that the medication was making me suicidal and highly anxious 😥. Got off of it did TMS for the second time which helped but still some remaining depression post grad. It’s also worth noting I have MDD and likely treatment resistant depression. Me and my psychiatrist are exploring Abilify at 2mg as a stand alone option to see if it helps improve mood.

I had infusions too! I had mixed feelings, the clinic really was there to make money more than have therapy or good follow up with patients. Then I had ketamine troches at home and really those allowed me to become my own therapist, communicate with my subconscious, healing self dialogue that I couldn't do otherwise. Then the provider abandoned me and I still haven't figured out where to go. I'm disabled and audhd and recovering from 5 years of chronic fatigue syndrome, it's been hell. Thankfully I have acupressure mats, those healed me not the doctors! It's so hard to be chronically ill in multiple ways, mentally emotionally spiritually physically, I hope we all heal!

Hi I just wanted to say I can relate. Keto worked really well for me at one point but now when I try low carb I feel extremely exhausted but I’m struggling to lose weight too! Something a friend told me was to focus on protein and fiber, which is meats, vegetables, legumes and also aim for Whole Foods as the bulk of the meal. This way you eat less processed foods. She’s lost 50 lbs doing that and has energy, looks vibrant and feels great. So that’s what I’ll try now. Hope you’re already feeling better or that this helps you!
