I love it. It turned out beautiful. I love using old things that have memories or meaning. We live in west central Iowa in a house that use to be on a farm place west of town. They brought it into town in the '50's. We've spent years updating here and there.

We live in a 140 year log house, and always looking for ideas to update. I love what you did to update your kitchen. In the next couple of years I would love to open up the upstairs again, and put an addition on, maybe put some garden doors off the living room, maybe a sunroom so all my plants can go out there. I have so many ideas.

Haha well I think you just became my favorite person with a compliment like that! I will tell you that I had such a hard time finding that slate floor! I knew exactly what I wanted but couldn't find anything quite like it at my local retailers. I almost thought about shipping in something just like it from the UK, but saw the cost and was like... no way! Thankfully, this floor finally made its way to me (hours and hours of searching later)!
