So it is almost exactly like the charging dock you get with the DJI Action 4 bundle, but for regular cameras. The DJI one came in super handy when I was traveling with that. It saves space, keeps everything accessible and the power bank function is quite nice for the flight home without having to bring a power bank. So this would be quite nice to have for the A7 IV.

I remember you talking about this on the podcast but promptly forgot about it until now. Cool product with seemingly a lot of versatility. Sadly, the only camera I use with the batteries this looks like it is compatible with is my FX30 - but I use v-mounts for that rig. I hope this turns out with raging success for Peter and he's able to create more interesting products! I was under the impression from the podcast (not that you necessarily said this outright) that the TC also serves as a card reader - that would be a killer feature. Maybe only one of the CFE, SD, MSD slots should be wired because I imagine that wiring all of them would increase the cost.

They tried adding a card reader, but a high speed one just generated way too much heat and would’ve driven the cost up a whole lot. Would definitely be awesome though!

For version 2.0, tell Peter to make a version that is also an SD card reader and not just a holder. And make it to also charge the batteries with a built in power bank. I want a 2% cut for my idea please. 😂

He tried, but every prototype they built, the reader would overheat and melt the casing. The materials needed to prevent that would make this device too expensive for most.

Yeah this is what I understand- getting it to work well while keeping the price reasonable is tricky. I’m sure he and the company would love to figure out a way to do it though, and if it’s possible I bet we’ll see one 👍

Oh look a professional charger like gold and v mount batteries have had.... since they were invented! Always bugged the hell outta me that I couldnt just go buy a 3 or 4 by charger for mirrorless cameras / camcorders like the shoulder ones.

Currently it's Sony, Nikon, and Canon, but I've heard they're hoping to add more systems in the future.

Well, it is one additional battery, but it also likely charges a bit faster and more efficiently than the cheap ones, plus has room for all the memory cards. Seems like it's about as streamlined as can be with all those things inluded.

It's 10x the price! I keep my spare drone memory card in the controller. If the slots are empty it's wasted space so way bigger too.

I guess normal speed? I don't notice a difference from the Sony charger (other than the fact it can do 3 at once).

@@tombuck So I guess in that case I prefer Hahnel ProCube 2. It charges most of the bateries in less than 2h (or 2h30m when 2 at the time). And with 1 charger you can charge almost every battery known to men. Not that pretty as tri-charge, but in terms of charging seems better choice. 3 cards holder is a gimmick.
