Can definitely tell you are itching to get back on the water! Can't wait for some more of your videos. Are you fishing the MTA opener Tourney?

Great videos. I'm a pretty experienced fisherman overall but have mostly been a bank fisherman when it comes to trout. Recently decided to get kitted up and do a lot more wading and your vids have helped a lot. Some questions for you, how do you approach wading deeper rivers/creeks? Do you go downstream instead of the preferred upstream or do you mostly just try to fish spots that are fit to fish going upstream? I live in Michigan and a few of the creeks/small rivers id like to fish are consistently waste deep and have tough banks to navigate dangerous areas and it would just seem like a pain trying to navigate upstream. Thanks for any advice!

So, I really never go downstream. I pretty much stick to stuff that is shallow enough for me to wade. That being said, sometimes I have to move pretty slow because of it.

Haha, I have nearly the same rod/reel set up as you, except I run 4# mono on the 6 foot Daiwa, and 6# fluoro on a 7.6 foot Fenwick. (Still just barely priced out of the St. Croix rods)

I love those fenwicks. I broke 3 of them though so had to make a switch

Yeah the st croix are pricey for sure

Thanks for sharing! I had been hemming and hawing about if I should buy actual wading boots or just go with old shoes/boots for my stocking foot waders - I think I'll give it a go!

Yes I would reccomend trying it. You're not out anything if you use an old junk pair. Then if you don't like them you can always get some boots.

Favorite creek fishing gear item: 6' medium-light action spinning rod. My cousin custom-made it for me.
