Awesome video bro!! All of those albums were early staples in my metal journey as well! Although i never faltered and was still a proud metal head in the 90’s ! I did also like grunge and alternative but metal was always number 1!! This was a great video and I’m looking forward to the next installment !! Cheers my friend 👍🤘🤘

I was always a die-hard middle fan through the grunge years. I never liked grunge or any of that new metal rap metal stuff that came later, but where I was there was a little bit of a stigma if you were wearing Motley Crue t-shirts around town when everybody was in Korn shirts.

I’m 51 and was crazy about all these bands and Motley became my favorite and now that I’m older I dig other stuff to but motley’s music a long with that whole scene is and will always be my favorite type of music. If anyone wants to be depressed and stay there listen to that grunge stuff that lasted about 3 years. There was a few cool tunes but other than that those bands were boring

It's always been hard for me to classify the first three Ozzy albums as hair/glam. It was just straight up Heavy Metal to me. But yeah the early 80s was a great time to be alive. My first "albums" I ever bought on my own or w/ the help of a penny (remember those?). My first album I paid full price up front for was Maiden #' of the Beast. After that I did buy from the local record store was also Dio's Last in Line, Twisted Sister Stay Hungry, Quiet Riots Mental Health and Condition Critical. After that I got slews of tapes from the ol' 12 for a penny and of course the ol' 5 finger discount method ( what can I say I was a punk kid, funny thing is my dad was the Lt on our local police department soon to be chief and was a deacon at our church. Like I said I was a punk kid. But man Theater of Pain, Slippery when Wet, Out of the Cellar, Under Lock and Key, Tooth and Nail and Breaking the Chains, Kiss Lick it up and Animalize, Stryper Yellow and Black Attack and Soldiers, Great Whites Shot in the dark, Hanoi Rocks Two steps from the move, Loudness Thunder in the East, Crue.. man great time to be a teen. Good to see you put Theater up there, cause it seems to get a lot of bad lip. It was great for 85/86, it was the soundtrack of my summer of 86'. VH84 was so huge. Great memories

Sounds like you and I were part of that very lucky group of metal heads that grew up in that era. All those records you mention have a very special place in my heart. I honestly believe that that era was the very best era for heavy metal. I've got part two and three coming up very soon where there will be some more of the records you mentioned as well. In addition to that, would be the late '80s transition to trash. I also completely agree with you on Ozzy. I never considered him glam or hair metal either. He was always just American heavy metal in my opinion. But when you use the term glam and hair metal, it always gets a lot of people talking about it.

We had a very similar journey, started with Crue for me, then thrash and then death metal. I bet a lot of metal heads born in the early 70’s have a similar journey.

As a 00s kid it was VH1 or VH1 Classic. I would watch the pop culture shows along with the I Love Series than the heavy metal and rock theme shows and documentaries especially on the 80s hard rock scene and metal music in general. It made me the metalhead I am today. Big VH1 kid.

Hey Brett hope all is well. What are ur thoughts on John 5 in Motley? Despite John's talent, not the same without Mick. Should they have ended on a good note last year. I feel like they should have come up with different project as a new band, and retire motley. Vince's vocals are hard to watch to say the least . Thank you, talk soon

Interesting that you consider Mick's tone of "Theater' to be heavy. I've always felt the opposite, that the album desperately need a remix, specifically to fix the guitar tone. "Shout" sounds amazing...every instrument...but especially Mick.
@headbangerscloset8552

Shout is amazing as is TFFL. Those records are their best . I really felt like Micks tone on Theater was a continuation of shout with just a tad more weighty groove on it.
