I'm surprised the FA unions haven't written minimum hotel room requirements into their contracts. You spend so much time in hotel rooms, it seems as though you should be able to have some minimum standards specified.
@ChristopherKellum4 жыл бұрын
We are working on getting a union now I don’t know if we have that written in our new proposal but it would be a great idea! It’s gets annoying when you’re trying to be healthy snd pack all your food for a 3 or 4 day and there isn’t a fridge in the room

I have a bad habit of not staying at jobs long I job hop a lot I get bored my longest job I had in my career was a FedEx driver that lasted 12 years I thought about going to inflight when I was working for Usair/Usairways in the 90’s but the training was 6 weeks unpaid I couldn’t afford to go that long without a paycheck

Really like this video Chris. I wish more airlines adopt better galley privacy for crew. I still don’t understand why some aircraft have the bathroom in the galley area. Did you end up arriving late into BOS to get the extra pay?
@ChristopherKellum4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏 I really wish we had bette privacy as well especially when we are eating and the bathroom is right next to us definitely doesn’t seem sanitary to us! And no I wasn’t able to get the extra pay!

I have an upcoming f2f and have been binge watching your videos and makes me so much more excited. Just curious to know when you are told where you’re based out of? I applied to BOS/NYC but have recently decided to move to FL so don’t know how that would affect me.
@ChristopherKellum4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Aimee! I appreciate the support! And I wish you good luck at the F2F 🍀 and I believe whiting 10 days of being at training we found out this may vary per class as well! You would just have to commute from FL to BOS unless you wanted to try and get MCO or FLL but most classes get sent to BOS or jfk first then you can usually transfer a month or 2 later

They should provide galley curtains - especially at the rear galley?
@ChristopherKellum4 жыл бұрын
Galley curtains would be an amazing addition I noticed the new NEO aircrafts have a slider installed on the ceiling so maybe down the road we will get them

I did fly with you guys on a night flight once, and you guys need lights in the galley but all the lights came out in the cabin, so strange, In Europe we have to have it due to entering the flight deck to. And especially in the back so you can separate from the toilets.

I love Airbus, and I can't think of any other manufacturer that can get my heart both as crew and pax. That being said.... What's wrong with the folks at Airbus, to come up with this "space flex" mambo jambo??? I totally support adjusting the on-board areas to be step free for everyone. But instead of stealing the already very tiny of the space crew has in the galleys you engineers could consider removing one row of seats. You welcome 🙃 Sorry Chris, can I call you Chris? Thanks. Sorry for unloading this frustration here in your video 🤭 but since you were on a A320 "space flex" or disgraced for more realistic information, I remembered the frustration it was the few times I flew them. Btw, I am a big fan of your crew vlogs, congratulations. Don't know when it will happen, but if I get to fly to NY it would be nice if we could grab a coffee. Clear skies 💛
