I just read a fun vampire book.. We Love the Nightlife by Rachel Koller Croft. Two lady friend vanpires open up a nightclub in London .. has chapters from the 1800s, mostly the 60s/70s and some 80s.. up to almost current day. It's more like a thriller.. it's a fun one! Also one of my favorite folk horror books read earlier this year is Lost in the Garden by Adam S. Leslie... very weird things happening ... dangerous places.. another fun one. 🌼

Eynhollow sounds great. I've read the original Frankenstein so a new modern version sounds neat. Frankenstein could also fit into medical horror.

I loved cabin at the end of world was disappointed with the changes in movie. Favorite horror books of mine are Disservement by Z C Krol, Penpal because random people becoming obsessed you is a major fear of mine and the ruins.

I agree loved the book and the movie matched up a lot as how I envisioned it up until a point and then I was not having it!! The death that happened in the book but not the film made me so mad! My sister hadn’t read the book and liked the movie

AGREEEEEEEE I ended up not liking the movie. Obsessed with Penpal though!

@@cozy_jesss The book was gut punch and the ending was more realistic. If my spouse and me was given the choice they were I would have made the same decision. Spoiler: Screw the world

Here's a business idea. An escape room with an actor. The actor is a giant masked man, carrying a bloody chainsaw around. It's dripping with blood. You need to solve the puzzles and hide from him whenever he is around. If you scream, because you get spooked by the puzzle, then of course he will come to look for you. He is dragging a bunch of chains all the time, so you can hear him and his heavy footsteps coming from behind the door. He is very slow though. Ok, so it's not really an escape room, but an escape mansion I guess. Multiple rooms.

Also if he catches you, then the puzzle ends for you. You're benched. Only the others can continue.

thought Nestling's finale is one of the best i've read in any book. very cinematic. finished tender is the flesh ab yesterday, now i understand why it's on every list. an incredible book. i almost wanted more it was so miserable, but fascinating. great list. i will give hendrix another chance because of your constant touting. the ab of his final girls was so bad i equate the narrator w/his writing but if you keep saying he's good... need an unhinged woman/children in peril/smug assholes get their comeuppance genres next time ha
