You are such an inspiration to those of us that don't have a $50,000 bass boat. You just show everyone that you can walk down to a creek with the right lures, some patience, and pull out some awesome keepers. Keep up the great videos! GOD bless!!!

Michelle Shuford I am one of those guys who has a bassboat w/200hp Honda, rod locker full of rods & reels and Plano boxes full of probably 200 muskie Lures. Still love hitting the creeks and small ponds a couple times each week for a bit of fishing. A medium-light 6’6”-7’ rod, size 1000 quality reel, 4-8# Leader, 10-12# white braided line (Berkley Nano-Fil) spare spool of replacement leader (fluorocarbon or mono) pocket full of Lures, a Slime towel and a Leatherman with needle nose pliers and life is good. I keep two telescopic rods in my motorcycle saddlebags as well as I am always checking out “new water”. Unfortunately, in Illinois we have to be careful due to Trespassing Laws. Oh, and I almost always catch a bunch more fish from shore than from my Triton! Be well and Keep On Fishin’.

Man I'm laughing so hard I can hardly write...I was rewatching this with my 8 year old granddaughter and she says .. what's that guy's name I say John. Where does he live? Tennessee. Hey that's not far from here! We should go meet him. So I start laughing and she says what ? I know you you like watching him we all like to fish and he puts Bible verses at the end. WE SHOULD MEET HIM! So I finally stopped laughing and explained that while you get to do something you really enjoy this is still your job. Thanks again John for the quality and content of your videos and you character. God bless

Hey creek fishing adventures, besides publicizing my magic lure (the rebel craw and deep craw haha) I love your page. PS try panther martin in line spinners!

Try TX rigging them with a Gamakatsu #1/0 G-Lock. I find they do everything the ned rigs do but are much less prone to snagging. From a cost, quality and snagging perspective, I think it is a much better choice.

As usual,Great stuff brother! I'm from southwest Virginia and one lure I've learned works really well in our local streams is a 4 inch green pumpkin zoom dead ringer. I hook it on a 1 or 2/0 worm hook. Peg a small slip sinker. Mostly just cast and reel in the more shallow and swift water, let it drop in the deeper calm. Just a suggestion ,if you've never used them. Smallies and rock bass can't resist.

Man, there is so much I want to respond to in this video. I have been using Kastking Reels for a while and actually had been looking at Piscifun when you mentioned them, next time it's in the budget, I'm on it. My all time favorite rod is for medium/light action is the Shakespeare Ultra Light Series 7" 2 Piece. I can break it down and put it on my back when I ride my motorcycle and when I hike out to spots if it breaks it was only $17. And the action for it's price is amazing. I actually keep a spare so if I break it I have on ready to go. I can't wait to try out some of this tackle as well. And lastly, I have personally tried Oakley's Polarized lenses on a few different pairs, some cheaper brands and the cheapest brands from walmart. If you can afford them, I'd recommend getting polarized Oakley's and seeing if you like the polarizing more and they are super durable. I could tell a difference when fishing. But following the same logic as the pole. If you lose a $15 pair of sunglasses it stings a lot less than a $215 pair. Luckily that hasn't been a problem for me.
@waucheesione28284 жыл бұрын
I normally like the Crossfire Polarized, but I have such a big head they look like I am wearing kids glasses. Finally got some cheap ones from Walmart that had a bifocal magnified lens on bottom and they sure have came in handy now that I have hit my 40s. John, you are welcome to go with me in the boat sometime. Spend most all my time on the Hiwasee within a 4 miles radius of the Hiwasee bridge on Hwy58.

@@CreekFishingAdventures I went fishing on the Hiwasee today near Hwy 58. Got several bites on the natural color hellgramite. They were ripping it off the jig. I had to go up a couple sizes to a hook that would not bend as much. I finally got hung up and broke 1 hellgramite off and had fish take 2 more off the hook. My Nikko shipment came in today. Going to stay with stronger jig/hook and gorilla glue some to the jighead. Got my first series of bites on an umbrella rig ever. Lake is summer pool today. The bass were not hitting the hellgramites hard, they were just lightly picking them up and swimming off with them. My son was thrilled to be on the lake and actually get a couple fish in the boat with the hellgramite until we lost our last one. 16 were in the mail from Nikko when we got back home. Have a great weekend!

Well , I have about the same setup asvyou do. I have a Carbon X 2 on a med light 6'8" pole. It's a Favorite Brush Dobber. It's pretty nice for a $40 light weight one piece. I was going to get another Finwick Eagle that I stepped on. Anyways , I've been using 10 pound braid with a 4 or 6 pound fluorocarbon leader. Always fluorocarbon........but I'm a mountain creek trout freak. I use this setup because I might not be able to get a large trout in on a pure ultralight setup. It's works small crankbaits great. I had an explosion of a top water catch last year on a Rebel June bug. Anyways , you seem to always reassure me that I'm doing the right thing. I don't know why I need that because what I'm doing works. 😂 If you haven't yet , you need to hit the Tellico and Citico creeks in the Cherokee National Forest .

Using a exposed hook does get snagged on all kinds of things but I have found that using a telescoping boat hook to retrieve all your lures works great as long as you can reach them mine let's out to 8 foot so that plus your arm is around 10 feet. Simply put your tight line into the top groove and chase line to lure with the boat hook. You will be able to feel with this tool in order to free lure. I am in panic if this tool isn't in my boat. Hope it helps everyone I know it's saved me a ton of money on crankbaits.

John, a great video would be how to spool up multiple rods with both braid and mono in an economical way for us guys on a budget. In my case I have six casting rods and thirteen spinning rods. I would be using from 4 pound mono to say 20 to 30 pound braid. I don't know where to start. I would imagine I could buy in bulk and try to spool up multiple reels with the same pound test line? Is flourocarbon mostly just used for leader material?
