Yes, the process is the same for automatics, minus the clutch pedal. 👍🏻

Fantastic! The last time I changed the oil I didn't fill the filter very much, maybe half and the car made an horrible noise for a sec. Really scary, it won't happen again with this trick. Helpful even in cold cold winter mornings
@rvarmerАй бұрын
I think I flooded the engine, trying to use this method. At least I did have trouble starting the car afterwards. I have a Mazda 2, 2009. The solution was giving it some rest and used some engine-starter on the air-filter. Also jump started it, because I had tried so many times to start it, it began to sound “tired” when trying to ignite it. I was kind of reluctant to use the gas pedal after it flooded, but I think it was what it needed in the end. At least I got started in the end. I might have done it wrong - any comments or thoughts is well appreciated. Anyways - Thank you for all the great videos and advice! Your fiery spirit is an inspiration. 💪🙏

I was wondering how to do an easy crank without starting and this is definitely the easiest way! Gf has a Mazda2 and I do all her maintenance lol. Usually you have to unplug a sensor or two to prime the oil. Nice that this is sort of built in.

Important notice: If you have any gear engaged at least for me the motor starts and goes full bonkers. So make sure you got it in neutral!

Never knew that. What is the green button in the little pocket by the door for? Thanks for making all these videos, there is very little out there for this car, and at 8 years old for mine it's getting to the "Starting to need parts" phase of it's life. One of the reasons I bought it was I looked into the engine bay and went "Yeah that transmission should be easy to get out." I usually keep my cars for 15 years. Maybe by then we can get the diesel version of this car in the USA.

Would you have any idea how to pull this off with the newer keyless model? The panel only lights up technically when I hold the brake down, so I was thinking of holding both the brake and gas down instead of pressing the start button? Thanks for responding about the ECU question by the way!

I’ve used this once before to pretend ‘my car wasn’t starting’ so I didn’t have to go anywhere, also the clutch if it’s in neutral of course isn’t necessary 👍

It is if the car has a clutch safety switch, which most do.
