Awesome! This solo is difficult. I used to dream of being able to play the Mr Crowley solos and thought I never would be able to. I finally got there in my 30s. It was not as much of a buzz as I expected. I just keep nitpicking over ways I need to get them more accurate etc. I have tried Tornado Of Souls, but it's still beyond me, especially getting the right feel on the bends and vibrato. Maybe one day. Getting to that level requires discipline like a top footballer or something. If I do not put in the regular training, I will not be able to maintain the higher levels. If I slack off, my picking is the first to go to sh1T. I am left handed but play right handed, so the picking hand gets kind of lazy and is happy for the fretting hand to be the boss. Okay for legato, but not for shred where the pick needs to be leading the way.

I've seen a lot of great guitarist play this, yes, and Marty too! However, they all have their own unique sound and I'm saying I think Gus nailed it! We are not taking a vote here, you guys just relax, calm down and enjoy all the unique guitarists out there. Gus wasn't trying to compete he was just having fun and sharing a great solo with us and I for one am personally grateful. You should be too! It's not a competition and it's a shame you folks look at it that way! I'll go on listening and learning from the pros like Gus and Marty.

Also something seems flat about this. Is this a step down. Could be half but seems like a full. Most of kikos solos sound like this live. Maybe daves voice is getting roasted over the years so they dropped. I shred on my acoustic and im always a step down. 10-47 strings. Better for my voice plus I can do step and a half bends no problem without snapping a string. Works great. Just transpose when playing with someone in standard. My buddy likes ukulele so I always just adjust haha

I never got leads, they never clicked with me. I could riff my ass off but never got leads. I was fortunate to play with a guy for about a decade that did get "it". But I never did despite practicing every day until my left hand wouldn't let me continue, it hurt too much to keep playing so I had to stop. Despite years of that I never was good at leads, my brain just didn't understand them. I'm dumb, so what!? I was still pretty good at riffing.
