The whole set up of the joke is meant to be a slick way of getting his arm around the girl he liked. So when he says the punchline “it was *this* big” he does his arms like he’s showing them how long the fish was but then puts one of his arms over the girl’s shoulder. It’s a very junior high move for flirting lol. Idk if you’ve seen that episode but for context they’re talking about dating when they were growing up.
