My Favorite Teams, Episode 1: Jolteon Spikes (ADV OU, 2012)

addendum: to be clear, when I say "jolteon was never used," I don't mean that on netbattle (which was before my time) it had zero usage - it did get used (which is why it had an analysis with the subpass set I used on this team). however, it certainly wasn't part of the "real metagame" like it is now. when adv "started up" again for the bp suspect test (february 2011) and subsequent smogon tour, which is when I started, then jolteon was not used ever until this team came around. in a similar vein, sapientia and majin (that I know of) used pursuit ttar on netbattle as well, but it didn't become part of the "real meta" until tama/halloween's team during smogon tour 12 (fall 2011).

I played gen 3 from start to finish back in netbattle times and I can assure you jolteon was used quite a lot. It mighthave dropped in usage through the years but people already knew how to use quite effectively, they just didn’t really trust it I guess

wow i was just randomly going through your and callous' videos, thinking about playing some adv again. didn't expect my name to come up in this day and age LOL i was actually just going to throw that cloy/gross team into showdown and hop on but i cant remember what else was on the team for the life of me. guess it's probably for the best if i just actually learn the new meta anyway i.e. build a team with lanturn. (shrapn3l btw)
