Hi Paddy, Phatthalung is my wife's home town. I have been there many times over the years and you hardly see any foreigners. Her parents home is a 15 - 20 mns drive West, in the direction of Trang, just before you start driving through the mountain range (another great road to drive - popular with bikers). There is a cool cave temple called Wat Sumano, a 5mns drive up the road beyond her Folks' home. If you haven't had a chance to visit it, I'd recommend it. There is also a zoo, as you get into the mountain range and they have a breeding program for some of the amazing animals in their collection. They all seemed to have very decent enclosures with lots of space. You already know about all the waterfalls and Tale Noi, lake with all the bird life and water lillies. There is a big Tesco Lotus outside the city in case you need to stock up on some supplies for your trip. All the best on your on-going travels and if they are put on hold for a while, we all look forward to seeing you again on KZbin. So me it don't make any difference his videos are good i did a motor bick trip around issan 5 years ago Surin to meahongson - chang mai - followed the mekong through loie nongkhai to mukdaharn and back to surin via udom a total of 5500 km and 6 weeks It was the best time of my life i loved it open road on a small motorbike no real plans no worries your bringing back good memorys mate hope you can overcome the covid problem

Because of your videos i did some research on Thailand.. Every region basically has a different culture and language. Southern Thailand is all Malays, Central Thailand is ethnic Thais, Northeastern Thailand is Isan/Lao people, and Northern Thailand is an offshoot of the Thai people. So cool.

Not the southern region, it is Siam too, especially Buddhists. There are more Buddhists in the South than Muslims Isan also has other tribes, not just Laos. Just use the Lao culture. Which Lao is also classified in the Taikadai language group .

Southern Thailand is all Malays? And Northern Thailand is an offshoot of the Thai people? Sounds like your research is from the 19th century.

@@somkit9102 Northern Thailand - Yuan people Northeastern Thailand - Isan/Lao people Central Thailand - Siamese people Southern Thailand - Siamese/Malay Deep Southern Thailand - Malay The Yuan people are an offshoot of the Siamese people. Meaning they originated from the Siamese, but migrated North. Through time and isolation, they became culturally/ethnically distinct.

That lake is a great location. The flora and fauna appears to be so much taylor made for that ecosystem. Real natural Thailand at its best.

Probably a dumb question, but have you been to Ko Phi Phi already? I was on Ko Lanta a few years ago, then went from there to Phi Phi and it was one of those places that exceeded the hype. Definitely my favorite Thai island in terms of its beaches, jungle and overall beauty. The only problem with it is that it's so popular. But since that won't be a problem now it might be an awesome time to experience it.

Covid sucks but it is what it is. I’ve seen a couple of comments on your channel suggesting it isn’t real or a scam etc and haven’t retaliated but we’ve had it in our family and my cousin is only 40, true she has pre existing condition (asthma) but was on a ventilator for a good few weeks. Most important thing is to take care of yourself. If you get stuck somewhere the content will still be great, everyone will still be following you because we all loves the authentic paddy on his good and bad days. We’re all hooked!😂

Nice one Paddy ! Beautifully shot and hilariously narrated. Mark Wiens did the breaking dawn version of this you mentioned on his second channel a few weeks ago which was absolutely epic as you suggested it might be Paddy, but of the two I genuinely enjoyed youra more. First of all Mark Wiens perma grin, eyes like he's on Yabba and toxic positivity isn't for everyone. I usually feel like topping myself after a MW video - I'm British - we don't do constantly happy/ happy much at all. So you're presentation where you show the real side of all this Instagram perfect life stuff - i.e that sometimes it really isn't - is refreshing. Secondly Mark never once mentioned the flying lotus chickens or the aquatic water buffalo - your narration wins hands down!

Koh Lanta 😍 The quietest beach I found was the one opposite the hotel Sea at Lanta. Barely anyone and lots of crabs around (I know it's weird but seeing them popping out and into their hiding places was fun 🤣). The restaurant opposite the hotel (the family run one, not the fancy one) has amazing food 😊
