I read the webtoon and honestly I didn’t rlly like the anime. Anime took a lot of scenes out which laid good foundations to be able to really understand the world they’re in and the animation is way to slow for my liking. Personal opinion of course. Then again, the beginning of the webtoon definitely wasn’t the best either n

And if the tradeoff alone is Kevin Penkin's music, I'd say screw those scenes and give me more of that :D I wasn't even sure we would get to the true beginning of the webtoon in this first season, and they managed to do so in a very elegant way.

Try Chaos;Child. It was made by the same studio that did Steins;Gate (Steins;Gate is originally a visual novel, if you didn't know). Chaos;Child is a murder mystery (less gameplay, more reading) visual novel, with steller soundtracks, and a godtier plot. Like seriously, it's almost the best story I have ever read/watched. But do NOT watch the anime, they squeezed the 50+ hours novel into 12 episodes which comes to around 5 hours of anime for 50 hours of story. Needless to say, the story was butchered horribly.

For those of you interested in Tower of God, I have only one thing to say: Read the Manhwa. Its is available for free on Webtoon and if you give it a chance, you will find not only all Wolf said about the anime, but also much more detail and history tidbits than the anime. And if you are worried about the aesthetic, the artwork improves in a massive way after the Season 1 On the anime, ill say its good, but it feels rushed, especially on certain characters development and interactions. But anyway, be it Anime or Manhwa, check it. It is an amazing story with quite possibly the most hated antagonist in any media (in a good way) Also very important, BE WARY OF SPOILERS!!! The series has some jaw dropping reveals and it would be a shame to not discover them for yourself.

The anime butchered the story, man. 😫 It's understandable that things needed to be cut, but they made bad decisions on what to cut too. They even changed stuff, removed jokes, put in shittier jokes, cut important info, also cut things they could've fit in, and changed character personalities. It was a butcher. The webtoon, however, is god tier. Anyone wondering, DEFINITELY check it out!

I REALLY LOVE the fact that you talked about SOR4's hard mode and how it kinda completely changes the gameplay compared to normal mode. At first, I was a bit hesitant to play the new Streets of Rage game, but after I actually got three game, I started out with hard mode and completely ignored normal mode since, you know, sometimes it gets boring playing a game in normal mode. The game then proceeded to beat the living soul out of me. I probably should've expected that to happen to me. But I kept going at it, even when I kept losing all the time, because I wanted to win! So I kept playing, tried out different characters, tried it different strategies, planned things out, I even watched some KZbin videos so I can get better at the game. Then I found my favorite character to play as, and I also learned about the importance of dodging up and down instead of left and right since that's kinda just delaying the inevitable, which is getting hit. I then came to really like SOR4 despite never having played any of the earlier games! I am very glad to have played it in the hardest difficulty from the beginning and I can't thank you enough for talking EVEN MENTIONING about SOR4's hard mode. I was literally quietly shouting at that part in the video. Thank you, Super Eyepatch Wolf.

A theory I heard was that the animation in the anime and the artwork in that manga is not soo great in the beginning because it reflects the lowest levels of the tower which don’t receive a certain level of “abundance”. but as you read the manga and follow the protagonists and antagonists journeys as they gradually go further up the tower , the level of detail and effort in the artwork begins to shine through. In short, “climb the tower, and everything will be yours” :)

I'd recommend the Steam/Console version since you get Virtue's Last Reward with it, 999 has Voice Acting, and you won't have to play through the entire game a bunch of times to get the true ending.

There's nothing wrong with the Steam version. Me liking the DS is mostly personal preference (I really like how the sprites look), but there are some story elements that work better because of the DS in my opinion

Yes, on DS please Storytelling and puzzles were designed with 2 screens in mind, the spritework is godly (lol at the traced remake "art"), the final sequence is awkward on remake, and 999 was not designed with voice acting in mind... which 999's isn't that great, either. VLR has a far better cast in both languages The only good thing about the remake is that you have the flowchart

Dolls legit gave me an irrational fear of china dolls. I happened to see a scene of it on TV when I was 5 (currently approaching 40) when I was visiting my grandmother with my family. The room I'd sleep in had a lot of dolls and after seeing the scene I did (one of the characters getting their head rammed into a wall by the dolls), I ran into that room, threw them all in the hallway and didn't trust dolls for the next 15 years. Fun fact: I actually found this channel through the recommendations of a video from In Praise of the Shadows. Its has become one of my favorite channels since the beginning of quarantine. I highly recommend to anyone especially if you're curious of the horror genre in all forms of media.

I'm so glad you've finally talked about Zero Escape (even if just indirectly) given your use of Zero Escape music in the past. AI: The Somnium Files really felt like a spiritual successor in many ways and I enjoyed it quite a lot. To anyone on the fence, I seriously recommend Uchikoshi's visual novels. You wil l be blown away (just maybe go into Zero Time Dilemma with... much lower expectations)

Wish you would’ve talked about Kaguya-sama season 2 even though it’s a second season it really went above and beyond to elevate this series to masterpiece level. The amount of passion and creativity the studio put into this season is inspiring and the way the characters are fleshed out and developed got me so teary-eyed, anyone who hasn’t watched this series please do it’s so worth your time and not just for romance fans.
