I've noticed half the community I follow are or have been devout Mega64 fans this whole time. I'm proud to say they came from my high school and my friends and I have been following them and seen them in the SD comic con during the times the staff used to struggle to get people to sign up for a 4-day pass for the next years cons. Mr Nosec's amv's aren't really my style, but dear lord the quality there is undeniable. Also thank god someone else is talking about Magical Girl Site. It's absolutely fantastic. It's a very bad show, don't get me wrong, but it was one of the most entertaining things in an already fantastic season. It's bad in all the best ways. It has a scene in which a man monologues about the worthlessness of other people who don't contribute to society and thus don't deserve to live while that very man has his pants around his ankles and is wearing frilly white panties. Please, never become like Mother's Basement. I really like how you focus on positive things in your videos. I like that this video is about your favorite things and not the things you hate. You usually talk about how good an anime is, or how good the manga was compared to the anime, or how good something used to be. Mother's Basement generally gets his views from tearing things apart and insulting the people that like them. I get that the SAO thing at the end was just a joke, but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Just to be clear, I don't have anything against MB as a person. I just don't want that kind of "my taste is better than yours" mentality to seep into your videos.

Hey there! Long time viewer, first time commenter! Thansk for all of the excellent recommendations, I'll check them all out (already love 'Atlanta' though!)! Given your recent excitement of all things horrific, and psychologically dark I have to recommend a TV show - AMC's 'The Terror'. It's a short series (just ten episodes!) and tells a complete story, of two naval ships in the 1840s that set off to find the 'Northern Passage' from England to India .. through the Arctic. Very quickly they get frozen in place, and the whole series is about them trying to survive / escape whilst battling the elements, each other, madness and... something else. The score is out of this world, and the show plays out like a cross between Alive, The Lord of the Flies, The Shining and The Thing - but has it's own distinct cadence and pacing (it's cuts to black for commercials are masterful!) I didn't even know I cared about period naval stuff, but it's a masterwork. Check out the trailer ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3qxf2ONpJ1rqbs ) , and hope you like it!

I only knew of that Eva video as a random find on Wallpaper Engine. Like, who wants that as their wallpaper? But it was so hypnotic and as you said, beautiful, that I would sometimes load it in just to watch it. Good to have a source channel. I definitely outgrew AMVs, and actually came to really resent them, and the people who make them (a lot of self hate in that regard...whoops!) but holy shit, that Eva video is a work of art.

I always got the feeling that Megalobox isn't a 'boxing anime' but more of a down to earth underdog story, that's why the fights don't really have the same... 'anime-ess' as something like say Ippo, where the fights are the centerpiece of the show

Megalo Box kinda disapppinted me tbh. The first 2 episodes got me hooked but the rest were meh ish. Not bad, but i expected much more. Like...The main character is just the worst kind of an MC material. Yuri and Nanbu had more personality than him. Hell, even that mafia guy was more interesting than Joe. Also the gear was completely useless and unnecessary. I mean, they could beat each other's faces just as good without a gear too. So what's the point?. Also about points, i think Megalo box creators didn't even know what point they tried to make. Like, why does Joe even like boxing? What was his goal? What did he try to achieve by beating Yuri's ass? What can we learn from this story The answer is....Well. No.

I think there Joe is far from being one of the worst anime MC's out, but it's fair to say the show kinda drops the ball on making him a super interesting character.

Agreed until you said Magical Girl Site. That was awful and you should not be recommended to anyone! Everything else was legit though. I was a bit sad I didn't get a chance to see you at AX, I really wanted to meet you/go to your panel but it was on my friend's birthday!
