MY FAVORITE TRADER JOE'S PRODUCTS!

You either love or hate Trader Joe's - I love it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. And as TJ's is celebrating it's 50th anniversary, I thought it would be appropriate to do a video of my fave TJ products (I've been planning this video for a couple months - didn't even know the 50th anniversary was coming up!). Let me know which products you love from Trader Joe's!!!
NOTE!!!! After filming this, I started getting into making coconut milk yogurt - I tried using the TJs version, but it didn't work - the milk is too chunky. I think if you are going to be heating up the coconut milk, you will end up with a smooth texture, but straight out of the can, sometimes these have coconut blobs in them. Make sure you shake these cans well before opening and if you get chunks, heat it up to melt it. (And if you need a coconut milk that is smooth and perfect, get the Thai Kitchen one - it makes perfect yogurt.)

Thank you! Sadly they don't have all of the products I mentioned (the platinum balsamic never was released this year, so sad!), but they always have lots of neat stuff to try. They did just come out with a giardiniera that's in brine, rather than the one I mentioned in oil, but I still prefer the one in oil. The Trader Joe's near me is on a street that is undergoing mega construction until November, so I have been going once every two weeks or so...still worth it to deal with the crazy construction! Chili Lime is great for guacamole, squeeze lime in avocado and sprinkle chili lime seasoning, yum!

Oh gosh, that sounds excellent! I've been buying loads of avocados recently (and they're been really good quality - I love when I'm on a goo avocado streak!), so will have to make some guam with the chili lime, great idea!

Goat milk kefir, Josefbrau (sp?) wheat beer, some of their supplements, Gerolsteiner mineral water is super cheap there (btw, the worse this stuff tastes to you, the more electrolyte-deficient your body is), frozen fruits and veg (great for bucha).

I'll have to try some of the goat milk kefir. I really can't consume any cow milk products these days, but goat milk in small amounts should be somewhat ok. Isn't TJs great?!

For the pb that is separated, stand it on its top in the frig and that will help. Have you tried their garlic frozen into squares? So convenient.

Great idea about the peanut butter! I haven't been eating much nut butter recently, but my husband is obsessed with the mixed nut butter from TJs. I haven't tried the frozen garlic squares - didn't even know it existed, but will def have to pick some up - thanks for the tip!

Love their herbal teas, kombucha, organic brown balsamic rice, all of their produce, Greek yogurt, and I'm totally addicted to their plantain chips.

THANK YOU for mentioning the camel milk soap! I tried it and love it. I have sensitive skin so I am usually dried out, especially in wintertime. I used mine for the first time a couple of days ago...I WILL be picking up more!

Thanks so much, Julia! Isn't TJs the BEST! The street where my local TJs is located is currently undergoing mega road construction until November, so I sadly only get over there every three or four weeks (it is a nightmare going there in a car!). Isn't the 21 seasoning salute so good?!

Soooo sad that TJ did not bring back the Coffee Flour this year. Coffee flour is actually ground coffee fruit, that which surrounds the bean. It made incredible brownies. Everyone loved them. Their Almond meal is very good for some recipes like quiche crust or crackers or anything that doesn't need a fine soft delicate flour Oh and I love, love Trader Joe's.

Good to know about the coffee flour! Haha I still actually haven't opened it...yes it's been like a year (hope it's still good!). I love TJs so much - I just wish they wouldn't discontinue some of their products that are so clearly amazing (like that platinum balsamic - I'm still recovering from that one!).

Great vid I love Trader Joes! The coconut cream is a good substitute for things that you might use heavy cream for, like in a thick sauce or curry!

Have you tried whipping it? I've heard that you can make dairy free whipped cream out of coconut cream, but have yet to try it (out of fear I'll be way too addicted to it!).

we LOVE tj! my family and i hv been doing a lot of our food shopping there the past four years now. discovered them when we relocated to phoenix, and luckily moved only eight miles from a location here in the se region. tj is AMAZING. idk what they put in their food, but it is simply divine. we bulk shop at costco and weekly staple shop at tj. i’m not sure how anyone cld HATE tj 😳

I agree! I remember when we moved to CA and my husband had said something to a coworker about getting groceries at TJs and she kind of turned up her nose at it - like it was bad quality or something! I looooove TJs and I am so excited about their winter products right now - have you tried their bourbon maple syrup?! OMG. And can't wait for the platinum balsamic to come out soon. I loooove Costco, too - can't believe I waited so long to get a membership! When we moved to Wisconsin, I purposely chose a location based on where there was a Costco, TJs, and Whole Foods (although Whole Foods wasn't as important!).

I LOVE Trader Joe's! I used to do nearly all of my shopping there. Alas, now I live an hour from the nearest one. I go probably four times a year for some basic stock ups, but don't get nearly as much there due to proximity. Also, unrelated, I have been brewing jun alongside the kombucha since your jun video, and I LOVE it! I have never been able to get the kombucha to be very fizzy even though it is delicious, and the jun fizzes like crazy! Thanks to you, I now have a gallon of kombucha going at a time and two gallons of jun. I do sometimes still buy store bought kombucha too. The health aid pomegranate is so good!

YES!!!!! This makes me so happy to hear! I agree - jun is a lot easier to brew than kombucha, especially in places with cooler temps. I can have two gallons of jun fermented and ready for flavoring in about 6 days - my kombucha takes about double that time (unless I wrap it in a heating pad). I think my kombucha did better when I lived in California because it was warmer, but now in Wisc, I think jun is my answer! And isn't Health Ade so good? They actually brew in small 2 gallon glass vessels, pretty much the same as what I do - they were the first brand I started drinking and fell in love with them, so then when I started making my own, I understood why I liked their products more than other brands - it's the glass!!!

For real! It drives me crazy - I end up throwing away so many avocados because they literally go from bright green to brown and moldy overnight.

Yeah, I always keep them in the fridge to minimize the risk. But then you get the ones that are still so green that you can't even get them out of the peel.

Carol, I cannot find that vinegar for the life of me! It is a seasonal product, but from what I remember last year, I thought it would be out by now already. I'm really hoping that I'm remembering wrong and that it will be available in January. Seriously, stock up if you see it - it is sooooo good. I feel like such a psycho every stinkin' time I go to TJ's - constantly stalking the balsamic section. If you see it at your local TJs, let me know and I'll really keep an eye out!

Kendra Lee I was able to find the gold label at my local TJ (here in Va) so good! I sent a email to TJ HQ to get the scoop on the platinum and when and where it will be released. Will keep you posted! 😁

Oh please do! I need to ask my local TJs about it - it still isn't around and I'm fearful it was only for last year (which would be such a shame cuz that stuff was soooooo good!). The gold label is legit, too - but if you can get the platinum, you will totally get why I rave about it - it's thick and syrupy and sweet and ugh, ok I'm gonna stop now. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
