Hey Stu! Do you know what I like the most about your videos? Well, aside from the fact that your visual aids are top-notch (chords, tabs, sheet, and now bpm, come on!), it's the fact that you are the Master at tone of voice, relaxed attitude, and calm expression. You drip Zen my friend. So much so that after watching some of your vids I sometimes feel like building a yurt in my backyard so I can sit in it and contemplate my navel. Thank you for all you do. Peace

Great 'Brown Eyed Girl' lesson Stu! Brand new ukelele player on my Enya Nova Tenor here and you got me having fun and improvising like a pro. I noticed my C string sounds off on the D7 (2020). So I'm muting it or using (2220). Open C string is dominating the others like a drunk in a midnight quoir!

For me the hardest part is accepting that the speed will come if you play it properly. But only if you play it properly!
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
Thank you for joining in and learning with this video. You’re on the right track with your comment… However, may I add this: the speed will come when your wrists and hands feel relaxed… And of course, when we feel relaxed. Use breathing and go slowly patiently when you can play it accurately at a slow speed, the faster speeds will naturally come.

Love it. What do you think about pinching the top 2 strings instead of strumming?
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
I think that's a great idea -- pick hwoever you feel most comfortable. Persoanlly, I find the thumb makes a bigger, richer sound, but that's just me. Many ways to feed a cat ;-) Thanks for watching & jamming Kevin!

When I slide, I just leave my index finger down, add/delete ring finger as required. Is this a bad habit?
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
That’s not a bad habit… That is precisely the habit I’m trying to offer! Great job! This is using a guide finger… The more you become aware of using it, the lighter it’s touch becomes… Gliding up the string like an ice skater gliding over a frozen lake. Happy jamming Gordon 😊🤙🎶
