Join Hannah as she makes dinner in this new cooking vlog! A slow cooker meal perfect for the impending chilly months (at least in the USA). We’re cooking up the beef ribs that we’ve saved from cutting boneless ribeyes! This is such an easy and delicious meal! While this is not a tutorial or how-to for any specific recipe, we will provide an approximate recipe here in the description. If you’d like to see more videos like this, please let us know in the comments!
Happy cooking and thank you so much for watching!

~This is an approximation of what Hannah did in this video and can be adjusted to your liking~
6 Beef Back Ribs, separated into individual ribs (beef short ribs would also work well)
3 Carrots, cut into large pieces
2 Onions, cut into large pieces
4 Stalks of Celery, cut into large pieces
5 Baby Potatoes, cut into large pieces
¼ Cup Minced Garlic
¼ Cup Brown Sugar
⅓ Cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon Dark Soy Sauce, this is optional
1 ½ Cups Beef Broth
1 12 oz Bottle of Beer, we used Modelo, but a stout works great also
2-3 Sprigs of Rosemary
2-3 Sprigs of Thyme
Avocado oil
Salt
Pepper
📃First, generously salt all sides of your ribs and set them aside to absorb the salt. We let the ribs sit for about 15 minutes, but you can let them sit longer, or even overnight in the fridge. Prepare the vegetables (you can use whatever you have) by washing, peeling if necessary, and chopping into large chunks. Tie the rosemary and thyme into a bundle using twine. After the ribs have absorbed the salt, lightly dry them off if needed, and lightly oil all sides of each rib with avocado oil, or another high smoke point oil of your choice. Place the beef ribs under your broiler, and brown them on each side until they reach your desired coloring.
📃Into the slow cooker, add all of the cut vegetables and season them with about a ½ teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of pepper. Add in the minced garlic, beer, brown sugar, soy sauces, beef broth, and the bundle of herbs, give everything a little mix. Finally, nestle the beef ribs into the crock pot as well.
📃We cooked this on high for 6 hours, or until the ribs were our desired tenderness. The cook time will vary depending on the size of your slow cooker, but about 4-6 hours should be good. We recommend starting with 4 hours and checking how tender the ribs are at that point. We enjoyed these over white rice, but pair the ribs with whatever you’d like! Enjoy!

I'm always hesitant to cook with sugar in something like this, because I'm afraid of it getting too sweet. I'll have to try that.

Totally understandable! I added the sugar here to balance out the fattiness from the meat and saltiness from the soy sauce, but feel free to omit it and adjust the recipe to your liking!! :-)) and we’d love to know what you think of it if you try making this or something similar!
